Colin Cowherd (Official Ass Hat)

Cowherd's obviously trying to stir up some shit. LSU is 4th in their own conference in winning % over the past decade.

Not really (if you're implying that 1997-2006 is not 10 seasons):
Well, I was making a joke on the way you worded it - with a ten year span going from '97 to '96 - which seemed like a step back to the future, certainly less than 10 years.

WTF did LSU do from 1997-2002? Typical Colin Cowherd.
'98 and '99 were particularly bad at 4-7 and 3-8 respectively.
Overall percentage in that period was 0.583 with 42 wins and 30 losses.

Ohio State in the same span netted a 0.747 average on 56 wins and 19 losses, two of their worst seasons - 6-6 and 7-5 in '99 and 2001.

I was listening to that. He argued with Maisel and Forde about it, too. He kept saying how momentum was very big in his decisions. I guess that means the most recent 5 years is more important than the first 5 years. That's why teams like Tennessee, Florida State, and Miami are lower than other people might have thought, and LSU is higher than other people thought (he used bowl wins over Miami and Notre Dame as his "momentum" examples).

That's all fine and whatever. But he didn't use the same thing to rate USC. He said that USC was not number one because in those first five years they were not very good in a not very good conference. So... basically, momentum is just a word he's using to put his list the way he wants it.

He said today that he got a lot of people whining about the list in emails. He made a good point (one of very few good points he makes): it's just a stupid list. Who cares? Feel free to make your own list.
