College Gameday Season Preview

You're probably the biggest Pac-10 hater on this board and that's pretty hard considering this is the board of a Big-10 team. You keep on living in your own little world.

My Conference Rankings:

1-T. Big-10
1-T. SEC
3. ACC
4. Pac-10
5. Big-12
6. Big-East

And you're probably the biggest Pac-10 lover on this board. Until someone other than USC proves that it is a good team, I'm going to keep on thinking that the Pac-10 is weak. I'll keep arguing based on facts, and you can keep arguing based on emotion. My rankings:

1. SEC
2. Big Ten
T3. Big XII
T3. ACC
5. Pac-10
6. Big East

Heisman

Scooter says "Prediction: Smith and Quinn are going to New York to watch someone else win it."

yup Quinn wont win it because of defense,
Smith wont win it because of Ted Ginn.
It sounds like all I missed by not watching ESPN is another load of useless dribble.

If Ginn plays most of the year a receiver like he did at the end of last year, and returns kicks like he did in '04 he's got a chance, otherwise it's Troy. And I think most people have Troy ahead of Teddy at this point.

Quinn practically has his name engraved on it already.
It will take a major screw up for Quinn not to be given it.
It's what people want to see happen.

Just like most want to see ND in the championship game.

People hate us and will not give TG or Troy the same consideration. :(

West Virginia's schedule:

9/2 Marshall
9/9 Buffalo
9/14 Maryland
9/23 at East Carolina
10/7 at Miss State
10/14 Syracuse
10/20 at Connecticut
11/2 at Louisville
11/11 Cincinnati
11/16 at Pitt
11/25 South Florida
12/2 Rutgers

This game right here is why WVU will not be in the title game. South Florida has the best defense in the Big East and WVU is coming off a rivalry game with a decent Pitt team. Add that to the fact the WVU can't pass and S. Florida will be attacking that option the entire game. It will be close but if S. Florida can score 4 times they win a close game.

Remember where you heard it.

Being a Florida bot, I'd love to think that the Bulls can win that game. I'm not convinced they will.

South Florida is the second best mid major on I-4.

I hope what you say is true, but there are some people who think that Ginn is ahead of Smith in the heisman race and those people would vote for him.

:osu: :osu: :oh:

I agree with Nation on this one. Ginn plays a position that is loss or made by Troy Smith. If Ginn has a big day recieving than Troy Smith has a big day at QB more than likely. The other areas that Ginn will need to excel aren't going to take away from Troy [i.e. special teams]. A combo of QB/RB would be much harder to overcome than QB/WR for heisman hopefuls from the same team.

Yes it is true that Quinn practically has his name engraved on it.
I figure that that wont stay long with their defense. (Sorrry Lou)

The ND prejudice is why of course.

I know nothing of South Florida, but didn't they beat the tar out of Louisville last year? Do they have a lot of people back from that team?

Scooter, no question USF is the second best mid-major on the I-4. The Bulls have a solid defense with 6 starters back and one of the most unsung LB corps in the country. CFN has the LBs ranked 7th as a unit in the nation. Andre Hall their starting RB last year graduated and was the teams leading rusher and receiver. He pretty much was the Bulls offense last season and I can't see their O doing much without him.

I say second best on I-4 because I think UCF is to be one the stronger mid majors this year. George O'Leary has worked wonders in a hurry in Orlando. UCF can't beat any of the big three in Florida yet. But its coming.

RB Kevin Smith will put up near 1500 yards this year. With his ground game churning out chunks of yardage, that will give Moffett time to go through his progressions properly, which is huge in O'Leary's offense. UCF is going places, trust me.

Go Knights!!
