Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

Love the Jackets in the East, but it would be weird to be so unbalanced, 16 east and 14 west?

It wouldn't be that bad to be honest...but Columbus and Detroit both get hosed with their travel

The sad part is the East is light years better now than it was just a few years ago when the CBJ could have competed and probably gotten into the playoffs when the West was stacked.

Last night is all on Bobrovsky. Let in at least 2 pretty soft goals.

I'm ok with it to be honest. The Rangers lost which makes me happy.

IF the Rangers can stumble this season and LA can really stumble then the CBJ are going to have 3 relatively high first round picks in what JD feels is a deep draft.

The CBJ are in dead last right now and that's right where they need to stay in order for the NHL and Gary Bettman to screw them out of the chance to draft Nathan McKinnon.

After extending their historic streak with a tough road win, the Chicago Blackhawks will try not to look past the league's worst team.
That hasn't been a problem recently for the Blackhawks, who seek their 10th straight victory over the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday night.
The Blackhawks (17-0-3) remained undefeated in regulation and stretched their NHL record season-opening points streak to 20 with a 3-0 win at St. Louis on Thursday. The Blackhawks have earned at least one point in 26 consecutive games overall, the third-longest point streak in league history.
"It's kind of cool to be mentioned in history,'' goalie Ray Emery said. "But we've just got to continue to play well.''
They appear poised to keep their run going against the struggling Blue Jackets (5-12-3) with nine consecutive wins in the series by a 35-18 margin. Those victories, however, haven't come as easy lately with both wins this season by one goal.

Anyone think the Blue Jackets just might win tonight?

I have a feeling the Jackets are going to win for some reason.

Perhaps you were hit on the head by, say, a coconut?

It is 3-3 after regulation. Chicago's streak continues; however, the Jackets could still actually win the game..

Filthy dish by Toews to Seabrook for the OT winner. Seabrook said in an interview after the game that he was watching Toews the entire time & said he didn't turn his head to see where he was even once. He either just rightly assumed Seabrook was in great position, or has remarkable peripheral vision. Either way, tremendous play by Toews to set that up.

Chicago will lose in regulation by the end of this next week. I hope Detroit does it but anyone will do.

You might be right. They have five games over the next eight days. @ Detroit on Sunday, Minnesota at home Tuesday, Colorado at home Wednesday, @ Colorado Friday & Edmonton at home next Sunday before getting three days off before heading to Columbus. None of these teams are really spectacular by any means, but I feel like it's going to be one of the lesser teams that ends the streak. Just has that feel.

Nikitin needs to take away the pass on that OT goal. Terrible play. Also, Mason needs to not give up the two quick goals in the second. Especially the one by Sharp. Jackets gave that game away.

Agree on every point. No clue why Mason decided he needed to stop the weak Sharp backhand on net with his stick, but he did & it went in. He was left out to dry by his defense on the Bickell breakaway (Did I just type out the words Bryan Bickell & breakaway in the same sentence ? Never thought I'd see the day), but Chicago was never really in control of the game at all, even after the two quick goals late in the 2nd. Game could've gone either way, but it went to the team who knows how to win, rather than the one that knows how to lose.

4 points in their last 4 games, but 2 of those games have been against Chicago....4 points for this group is progress, and winning today against Colorado is a nice step in the right direction.

They still suck, but at least they are still playing hard.
