Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

 Fuck the Divealanche

Florida makes the most sense - without Ekblad they are probably screwed but if they want to overpay for Savvy all good.

Foligno and probably Del Zotto are next out the door too. If Jenner wasn't hurt he'd be on the block as well.

Horrible franchise. And now they are cratering. Do you trust this administration to make the right picks they got for their only proven stars? I don't.

Werenski and Jones are proven stars in my IMO

I trust Jarmo a hell of a lot more than I trusted Scott Howson or Doug Maclean...

Torts pulling last year out his ass (he still should have won the Jack Adams for it dammit) really held this transition off a year. Foligno and Savard were both UFAs after this year and getting this return for them is EXACTLY what you do in their position. They lack depth at the center position and need another scoring wing to go with Laine and Atkinson and Borky.

Laine is an RFA. They need to figure out an extension for Jones and for Werenski in the next two years. They now have 3 1st round picks this year. It would not shock me to see them package two of those picks plus a goalie to someone who needs them (Buffalo) for a star player like Eichel. Maybe it won't happen but I wouldn't be shocked.

Foligno will be back next year. Savard will cost to much for what he brings.

I trust them to make the "right" picks but This coming draft is supposed to be a pretty down draft talent wise from what I read, which doesnt help the CBJs case. Trading expiring contracts for 1st rounders isnt a bad deal though.

Eichel is signed through 2025-26. So he has a few years left on his contract.

At $10M per season.

Update:
Buffalo Sabres' Jack Eichel to miss rest of season with neck injury

Buffalo Sabres captain Jack Eichel will miss the remainder of the season because of a herniated disc in his neck. The team made the announcement Wednesday, adding that Eichel is "expected to be healthy and ready to play at the beginning of the 2021-22 season."

Foligno will be back next year.

Foligno's family is staying in Columbus, and he has let the team know he would be open to signing with the Blue Jackets as a free agent after trying to win a Stanley Cup with the playoff-bound Maple Leafs.

"We've gone through a lot here in Columbus," said Foligno. who came via a 2012 trade with Ottawa. "We've grown this thing to a point where we had a great little run."
