"Community" / Parks & Recreation

Yeah I dont know exactly how anyone can "hate" the soup. Or Joel for that matter. funny dude. Fits perfect playing his role in community. I have literally watched season 1 and the current season 2 episodes probably 20 times. Might be my favorite show ever.

It reminds me of a milder, spit-shined version of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Well, they have a blonde, some (but not strictly) white people, and a lead male who patterns himself after a model, but that's about as far as this strange comparison goes.
I prefer "Sunny".
I prefer laughter, something Sunny hasn't delivered in a few years.

Group of friends (and a creepy old dude played by somebody who peaked in the 80s) whose interactions are centered around a local establishment (community college, bar), where the plot of each episode is usually derived from the surreal imaginiations of the show's characters (as opposed to the usual sitcom fare, observational humor).

I'm not disparaging Community or saying it's a ripoff, just noting where I've observed similarities in style.
