Rumors are floating on the Browns board that the Titans are seriously interested in Chow. There are some comments that Chow has put feelers out that he is interested in an OC position in the NFL. All the Browns fans want to jump the Titans and hire him, but considering the Browns won't have a coach for at least a week that is not going to happen.

I would like to hear Methomps or Wstripes comments before I put much stock to anything on the BN boards.

Lots of rumors flying around..

He is being mentioned in both of the Nashville papers... some are speculating that it might be a done deal and Fisher (USC grad) is waiting until after signing day.

An insider who posts to one of the Titans message boards I read says it is a done deal and it is just awaiting owner Bud Adams signature to finalize the deal.

Add to the fact that there have been two articles in the last two days where Chow says it is a misconception that he wouldn't be interested in the NFL....

Move along, nothing to see here!

Honestly, I don't know. We don't expect him to be with us forever, but I would certainly hope that the person who took him wasn't someone attending our NC ceremony. I found this interesting from the Titans website:
Fisher noted the new coordinator will inherit Tennessee’s current offensive system, rather than implementing something from scratch.

“You want to make sure there’s balance, an eagerness to run the football, creativity and those types of things, and of course this is our offense,” he said. “We’re not going to hire somebody that’s going to bring in his offense. It’s our offense. This particular play-caller is going to come in and improve our offense, but continue to maintain this program and push this scheme to
new levels.”

Fisher's search for the OC

$1.5 million certainly seems a bit much to bring Chow in for if you're just going to have him coach your system. I'm not ruling it out, but it just seems like such a waste to me.

This rumor first broke back when USC landed WR Turner from Tennessee. We just thought it was a backlash from the Tennessee faithful (or a recruiting tool since they were still hard after Turner). It pretty much died when a local Tennessee radio station reported that Fisher was looking for an OC with NFL experienc.

As much as Fisher loves USC, I highly doubt that would get in his way in hiring for his own staff.. I would think it would help him evaluate the coach's value to the Titans staff more.

I don't know if he is coming or not.. all I know is the "chatter" is starting to pick up from the Titans different websites. You aren't going to see much rumors on the official Titans website.. it's more coming from the message boards and the Nashville newspapers.

Like I said earlier, one "insider' claims it is a done deal... he is even commenting on what Fisher is going to do for Chow to advance his career.

The thought that it might be gamesmanship out of Tennessee crossed my mind when I first saw this. If so - I hope it is effective.

(Nothing against USC, but if we don't put a 'star cap' on those guys it will ruin CFB.) :)

Chow is waiting to honor his contract w/ PC

I talked w/ a Titans fan and they feel its a done deal. Chow will use it as leverage to get a HC job in the NFL or college. He feels if he suceeds in both levels there is no way he doesn't get an offer. Plus, the money is 3x better
