DB Corey "Pittsburgh" Brown (DB Coach Slippery Rock Univ.)

I'm sold...these guys are both going to be great here. Corey always struck me as a competitor and coming from a top notch school like Gateway helps. Can't wait to see how these guys perform in '09. Very entertaining interview.

After one more season of football at Gateway, senior-to-be Corey Brown will trade in the black and gold for scarlet and gray.
Brown made a verbal commitment to the Ohio State University on Monday, ending a recruiting process that generated interest from dozens of Division I schools.
He said the decision came down to Ohio State and Pitt. Brown also made visits to Penn State, Michigan, North Carolina, West Virginia and Maryland.Brown visited Ohio State three times, most recently on Friday. The trip to Columbus was sandwiched between visits to Pitt.

Brown said Pitt was No. 2 on the list.
"After we saw the facilities at Ohio State and talked to all the coaches, I told my mom I was ready to commit," he said.

Corey Brown and Dorian bell made the all-tournament team in the big NIke 7 on 7 tourney...

Heard reports that Brown really looked good on offense and also defending some of the best recievers in the country...Gateway took out Mater Dei (Barkley #1 player in the country) in a game and Brown had the winning touchdown...

Whenever I hear reports like this I think about how good Mooney was last season. Monroeville is a heck of a program.

Swagger

From the videos and snippets I've seen of Corey Brown, I really like his swagger and confidence on the field (regardless if he's playing corner or receiver).

I just remember when Malcolm Jenkins was just a freshman with the Bucks (in 2006) and on his video board player highlight he made the "cut-it-off" gesture with his hand on his neck. He turned out pretty well.

Lots of confidence shown from this kid.

I'd assume you mean Gateway here, but in any case... definitely, they are very good. Seem to always have at least 2 kids being recruited by just about every school in the country.

Team Super Bad pulled out the last minute victory behind their super bad man, receiver/defensive back Corey Brown. With his team trailing 7-6 on its last drive, Brown came up with a big-time catch on a big-time collision with a Field General defender right at the 20-yard line. Even more important than the catch, the first down in the red zone meant Super Bad was allowed to finish its last drive with the clock stopped. On queue, two plays later, Brown caught the game winner from QB Rob Kalkstein.

Player of the Game: Brown

Zoom Blade's overtime series consisted of a seven-yard pass, incompletion, seven-yard pass, then an incompletion on fourth down. Trailing 21-0 with approximately 10 minutes left in the game, Super Bad started its rally on a 12-yard TD pass from Kalkstein to senior standout Corey Brown. An interception by Karoush Hedjazi set up the next series, which was a one-play 60-yard bomb from Kalkstein to Josh Vermeluen.

The comeback continued for Super Bad when Andrew Blackmon came up with another interception. This gave the Pennsylvania squad the chance to tie it up at the end, which it did when Mile Wilson outleaped a defender in the end zone to haul in a 10-yard TD pass, which was followed by a two-point conversions reception by Brown.
