DB Donald Washington III (Official Thread)

BSB $

Donald will arrive in Columbus tomorrow morning for his visit as he has a basketball game tonight. He will decide after this weekend. However, if the visit goes well, he will commit before he leaves Columbus.
"I like Ohio State best. I like their program. It's in a big city. It's a nice school. I was there for the Nike Camp."

A quote about Donald Washington <HR SIZE=1>I inquired about Donald Washington on an Indiana High School football forum and I got this response from Pat Kuntz, who was probably Indiana's second-best college prospect this past season. Kuntz is a tough-as-hell defensive end going to Notre Dame. (Indiana's No 1-recruit, in my mind, was Selwyn Lymon, who chose Purdumb.)

Kuntz and Washington are not teammates, but apparently are friends. Take this quote for what it's worth.

Here is Kuntz's assessment of Washington..........

This is Pat Kuntz,

I am good friends with Donald and I have played against and him or with him for the last seven years. He is the best all around athlete I have ever seen. He can jump out the gym, has good speed, and has a great attitude. I think he will do well at Ohio State. If he doesn't play wide receiver, they will find a spot for him.

Interesting....

I'm not saying he is as fast as Ginn but he has shiftiness similar to Ginn. Donald doesn't have wrld class speed but he has agility on an elite level. He can hang in the air and can turn on a dime. This kid just needs to become a more polished receiver...athletic ability is not in question.

I love kids like Washington. They fly under the radar the whole time, and then burst on the scene over some of the highly touted guys (ala AJ Hawk, Sirjo Welch). I am very excited this kid, his vertical is off the hook. Plus, he wants to be a Buckeye, that is number 1 in my book.

I am glad we might get a commitment from Washington. Some experts wondered why we did not offer him. They said he looked real good at the Nike Camp. He is not a five star player but a lot of guys aren't and go on to have great careers.

...The infamous "safety" designation, which means if he is good enough,he plays corner later on...

Believe it or not, kids play safety in high school you know. We moved Whitner from corner (high school position) to safety, so corner doesn't always take precedence over safety.
