DE Eddrick Houston (Official Thread)

Nah. Losing all your top DL prospects isn't something to brush off
Especially with literally no one else coming in and having struck out last year at DE.

We lose this kid? We better do everything we can to get kids to return.

Because let’s be real besides JTT none of last years starters are first day players right now. If we lose our entire starting four and then compound it with basically no one on the edges for 2 years? That’s how a program starts to slip.

Fastest way to slip is to have LOS’ that just aren’t good enough. We saw that this year on the OL and damn now we could be in dire straights on the DL too.

So yeah I think the nervousness here is warranted. IMO, if we lose Houston we should think about talking to LJ about retirement. Not because he’s not good at what he does but because I think clearly teams are having success playing the retirement angle.

Slightly off topic, but the 5 star skill is nice and all but dang we need to replenish the ranks up front on both sides.

I am wondering if this is happening, because LJ is retiring, and they told Houston as much.

This is going to happen every year until LJ SR actually does really retire. He’s grown stagnant as a coach development has been pretty poor the past few years. It’s time to move on.
This is not happening to Tim Walton. OSU needs to give LJ a position with the team, if he wants it, and hire a younger coach. I love LJ and he is a Goat, but when you are in your 70's the game is apt to change.
