A buddy and I were commenting yesterday on how well he actually bull-rushed his man in the Northwestern game. He's a speed guy and that surprised both of us because it was extremely effective. We also thought he'd be good in spy situations - wait for the QB to choose a direction and just go get him.

Anyway, I'd be lying if I didn't think he would be a guy the slipped through the cracks but he's really found a home at DE.

We should not be running 2 lb sets. What's the poi t of having 10 dbs if they can t cover anyone. Have three lbs and rush the heck out of the qb. On the last new TD. We blitz and got to the qb. And o. The next play Mr fickle decides to rush 3 and dropped everyone giving the qb half an hour to find some one open as he had 3 guys standing by watching. That was a terrible call.

So what do you suggest we do against the multitude of spread offenses that we will face in college football? Sending blitzes constantly doesn't always work. And id much rather have our dbs covering opposing slot wrs than a lb. Marcus came in as a pass rushing lb and is prospering as a rush end. No reason to stunt his development at a position he's doing well. The spread offense dictates that defenses need more dbs to cover wrs in space. The last thing our defense needs is marcus and another lb trying to stay with a smaller quicker wr in space

Yeah I saw that one play also and then noticed coach Vrabel afterwards on the sidelines with Marcus, trying to take his helmet off and Marcus look pretty scared. I just wondered whether Vrabel was chewing him out or was he giving him some kind of constructing criticism. I could not tell but maybe you noticed that scene too.

I love seeing Jamal makes some plays, really didn't hear a peep about him in the off-season and now he is stepping up his game when we need him. Great to see him start realizing his potential.
