DE Keith Wells (Columbus State; transfer to Ohio Dominican)

I really like this kid. I hope he goes to a program that values exactly what he wants in a university - stability and character. He actually reminded me of Troy Smith. Very calm, humble, and great with questions. I'll wish him luck wherever he goes, but hopefully I'll be seeing his jerseys at the bookstore on campus. :)

I'd love to have this kid. Regardless of athletic ability, he just seems to be level-headed, humble, and appreciative of opportunities. Sounds a whole lot more like an tOSU type kid than a Florida State type kid. If the "character of a coach" is really that important to him, I'm pretty sure he won't find many men that will outrank Tress.

I am so extremely impressed with Keith. He is just a down to earth person and is a JT recruit all the way. I already liked our odds but I have to say I have a hard time see him going elsewhere.

That interview with Keith was more reminiscent of an interview that would be given by a major award winner (Lombardi, Outland, etc.) than by a High School Football player. What a great find.

Keith impresses me initially as a kid that is mature beyond his years, and that obviously was instilled by a mother that layed the "values" out early and often in his life. He seems to appreciate the fact that there is a "ticket" out there if you work hard for it, NOT a "free pass."

There is just so much that the State of Ohio has to offer to kids like this, way beyond their years of playing at TOSU. The personality that Keith possesses would make him an instant fan favorite. The fact that Keith admits that he's basically still learning the game makes him scary, real scary. I know he mentioned Engineering as his choice of study, and what a nice career to fall back on after football is over. But with what this kid exudes, he should think about getting into coaching after his playing days are over. I have a 10 year old son, and if he is ever fortunate enough to have the opportunities set in front of him that Keith has, I'd love to have Keith in his corner helping him make the right decision.

Whatever his choice, best of luck to this extraordinary young man.

Well said. Totally agree. Hope you're right.
Looks thicker than I thought w/bigger arms. He's ready.
Let's go, Keith.

Wow, just got a chance to see the Keith Wells interview. What a great kid, that interview could have been for a job, or as someone else said for a major award by a seasoned interview veteran. It is obvious that his mom deserves a lot of credit for bringing up such a respectful, well spoken young man. Hope he ends up in S&G but he'll excel wherever he ends up because of his attitude and work ethic.

After seeing that video Keith is near the top of my wish list as far as closing this class goes. Very well spoken and thoughtful. I hope that he sees the values beyond football that Tress' program has to offer.

Plus, it would be nice to add his pass rushing skills to this class to compliment the Interior D-line we have signed for this and next year already.

Myron Rolle was an amazing high school student and chose FSU.

I have no idea what Bowden is telling these kids.

He wanted to study to become a doctor, and FSU had just completed their new medical facilities and pre-med programs.

I think that had a huge impact on him.

Absolutely love this guy. Attitude plays such an important part in life and football.. He will be special wherever he goes to school because of his attitude as much as his physical abilities (which are about as ridiculously good). Really, really want him to go to tOSU. He and Tressel are a great fit, too.. :)
