Moved your post here...

21 confirmed through an email that Ryan has indeed left the team. I believe Gary Housteau was the first to break the news...

Confirmed is a littled misleading which is my fault...but there is a TON of smoke on this one. According to one source, this isn't the first time Ryan has left...but this one is likely the last time.

OSUGRAD21---posting wrong info

osugrad21....you couldn't be any further from the truth. 100% wrong! No smoke, no fire, no rumor, no multiple departures from the team, no conspiracy to chase down. I wish there was more to this story...but there simply isn't!

He made his first and ONLY decision last Monday. He's simply buried behind great athletes. After intense rehabing his knee, and a burning desire to contribute to the team, he had 5 plays last year. With all the DE depth returning for the next two years...he knew his playing time would be minimal. His time is running out...he simply wants to play. I can't blame him for that!

Michigan Sucks...!

If he is leaving the team, then obviously Im not very far from the truth. No offense, but we were told that Ryan took a few days off from the team last year to sort through his frustration.

No conspiracy claimed at all...but your post is a little misleading. I don't see where I posted wrong info...he left. If the stories from last year are incorrect or not 100% true, well that is the nature of this business. We can only report what is given to us...

Rumors that he left...I said it was not officially confirmed yet although we've had anumber of various sources continue to tell us this is happening...you obviously confirm that he left. Obviously, Im not 100% wrong eh? I understand you are defending your own...but I also find it strange that the word "frustration" has been relayed to us over and over...your post confirms that.

Best of luck to Ryan.

correct info...

yes..confirmed. The sources are 200% wrong about multiple departures or even the consideration of it.

From day 1 and even now...he loved his team and was proud to be a buckeye. This was an agonizing decision for him!!! And again, it was only made this week.

His decision to leave is based 100% on depth at DE. He worked hard to rehab his knee so he could contribute to his team last year. His goal was to walk into fall camp, strap on his work boots and and get on the field. He never missed a practice, team meeting, workout or class. The bottom line, is he ended the season with 5 plays. That was tough. He came back in winter / spring to give it everything. His classroom effort in the winter...4.0. The only one! He knows that he is behind great DE's for the next two years and playing time will be minimal. His time to play is running out...and he just wants on the field.

He loved his team! He loved the Buckeyes! After watching him climb some rough mountains in rehab...just to get back to play...it was hard to see that kind of stuff written...! I just had to jump in. Now i'm jumping out...!

Go Bucks!

Excellent post and again we wish Ryan the best.

However, I also think you are assuming malice in my post that is not there.

With that said, I will still stand by the info I was given and passed along as our userbase has requested we do. As always, it is up to the individual to choose what they wish to believe.

Thnaks MV. I don't think anything written was meant in disrespect, however it may have sounded. Message boards run on rumors and rarely do we get the chance to have someone this close set things straight.

Programs like OSU recruit tons of talent and the competition is fierce. Some pretty good athletes fall by the wayside. Throw an injury into the mix and it must be incredibly hard.

I was excited when Ryan committed (back in the days when we were dreaming of the trifecta of he, Sanchez and Bemoll) and am disappointed to hear that he is leaving. I wish him the best wherever he lands.
