Decanonized Mythologized Disgraced Ped State Monster Coach Joe Paterno (Zombie Icon)

I am amazed at all the high powered people praising Joe Paterno..where is someone who will speak for the victims. They won't and child abuse will continue by priests coaches etc. I can't believe how many people consider harboring and abetting a child rapist as a Mistake, did all he was supposed to do, pardon me. I feel very comfortable about being against Joe and what he didn't do.Joe's failures alowed children to be raped. a library. football program, an Joe's s legacy don't overide that.

Everyone has a right to their own opinion .It's horrible that a man would keep silent when such a thing was going on but I am going to wait until all the facts come out to really decide.I would like to believe that for some good reason that he did not go to the cops because I liked the guy.I guess only time will tell

..Lot of people have engaged in what I've called an orgy of self-congratulation relative to their willingness to post criticisms on a fan message board. If you have ever been in a similar situation and behaved differently, either intervening directly or hammering at the police until the perp was arrested, then you have a right to express this sort of vitriol. Otherwise, I think the best response is self-examination, along with gratitude that we have not been faced with such a thing.

My wife was gardening near our deck and thought she saw a guy near our 4 year old daughter just behind our fence. She came inside and told me what she thought she saw.

I went outside andsaw bushes moving in the distance about 400 ft away. I ran over there and to my surprise there was a guy a guy hiding in those bushes. I chased him on foot for a mile and half. He got to his car and I got his liscence plate number and make model.
I called 911. It kicked off a high speed chase throughought Springboro resulting in his arrest after he fleed police on foot after crashing his car on an overpass above I75. I met with detectives and lawyers for months. It turned out he was stalking my neighbor and not trying to abduct my child. Do I have the right to critisize JoePa now?

We never knew this but apparently my neighbor was in fear of this guy for months and he had actually broken into her house when she wasn't home. [sarcamsm]Maybe I shouldn't have done anything since it ended up he wasn't actually molesting kids and just walking though my yard [/sarcasm]

The Grand Jury's findings are facts found by a preponderance of the evidence, so I don't know what more you want to hear. It really irritates me that Paterno's supporters keep putting this line out there that we have to wait for the facts to come out. The Grand Jury's findings were the result of lengthy proceedings under oath, including the testimony of Paterno himself. Go read the Grand Jury presentment. All the facts are there. It will be up to a jury to determine whether Sandusky should be criminally convicted by a higher evidentiary standard (beyond a reasonable doubt), but that doesn't change the fact that, well, the facts have already been disclosed by a preponderance of the evidence, and JoePa didn't hold back when he was under oath.

I'm not, by the way, trying to single you out gobucks. I'm trying to express my disdain for the Paterno clan (one of whom is a lawyer himself) consistently engaging in public spin that is designed to convince those not familiar with the criminal justice process that the facts are not yet known and that anyone who forms an opinion regarding Joe's actions (or lack thereof) is rushing to judgment. No one is rushing to judgment, at least with regard to what Joe knew, when, and what he did or did not do with that information.

You both must have been in pretty good shape. The average adult in this country would have collapsed and required medical attention after running flat out for 400 yards, if that.

Well... I thought the same thing. Then I envisioned a low speed chase.

(Yes, it has to be capitalized. Properly. As I'm sure you agree.)
