Derrick "LLL" Green (RB ttun transfer to TCU)

You gotta remember that the biggest thing about recruiting is potential. From watching Smith, it seems like he's reached his ceiling. Green, though, seems like he's just scratching the surface of what he can become.

A big part of potential is the physical tools. And Green has more of them. You can't teach some of the gifts Green has for a kid his size.

Can't say I agree with Green being better than Dunn or Ball but he'll be a terrific pickup.

Dunn is a load and Ball has all the talent in the world plus just a physical monster.

Green has a ways to go but looks good. He's faster than both but think Ball and Dunn are ahead of him.

It's better to have and not need than need and not have. Lets hope we have Dunn, Ball, and Green.

agree with this.

Green is very good prospect, but I don't think I'd put him ahead of Dunn or Ball at this point in time. Green is very good though, definitely deserving of the early offers he has.

Green IMO is a very good RB prospect, not a slam-dunk, that guy is unfreakingbelieveable 5* future NFL player recruit like say Keith Marshall in this class, Crowell in the last class, or Lattimore in the class before that. He's a very good, very probable high 4* RB recruit.

If he were better than Ball and Dunn as a JR (which he's not IMO), I'd think he'd be the former instead of what he is- the latter- because Ball and Dunn are incredibly good high school backs that project very well to the college and pro levels.

My first thought about watching Green was "He'd be awesome at Oregon." Having said that and thinking a little bit, he'd also be awesome in Urban's offense as well. Kind of like a bigger Chris Rainey. Not quite as fast but he's bigger and probably stronger as well.

What?

Chris Rainey is a slot dot that has speed and quickness not often seen in football. Green is a big back with good speed and awesome power.

Nothing alike.

When you said Oregon, I thought you were going to say Johnathan Stewart, which is a pretty good comparison. But Rainey? Not really close at all...

It's just a personal preference really. I hope both come to Columbus and be great. I just think that Smith will be better. I'm not 100% stating it or hoping he is, I just like his running style and power. I just have that gut feeling.

Yeah, you're probably right. I don't watch much film of recruits or anything. I just didn't see a lot of broken tackles, pounding it up the middle type running. He looked like Rainey or Demps in FLA's offense. But whatever, I don't know much :tongue2:

Really liked his tape. He reminds me a lot of Boom Herron's senior tape. Tough, aggresive runner who always keeps the legs churning. Also displays some quick feet through the whole, which was a pleasant surprise. He seems to have the frame to become a bruiser type to match his running style. Behind a strong offensive line he has some really good potential. Excited to see his collegiate career unfold, wherever it takes him.

A ton to like there...obviously a very fast straight-line runner (not 4.3 I don't think, but fast), but also gets up field quickly after making his cuts. Very poweful and always falling forward. North and south runner, no nonsense, which I love for a big back with speed. If he works on his balance and gets slightly more elusive, I think Green is a 5 star. Bare minimum, he is going to BLOW UP the combines and get a top 100 ranking.
