Diet-Fitness-General Wellness Your Thoughts?

CF is huge right now in the military. I tried it for a while but it's not for me. My take on it is that it's very, very easy to get injured if you are a beginner going it alone. If you want to get into that crazy [Mark May] then go to a well reviewed CF gym and leave your pride at the door when you walk in. I've seen some relatively experienced CFers do some crazy [Mark May], [Mark May] that would put me in a hospital.

Sadly there are few, so very few CF gym's (and I use the term gym loosely here) that I feel educate their clients thoroughly as opposed to just throwing a rash of shit at them with high repetitions while saying ' good job'.

I'm down 39 pounds since Thanksgiving. I watched "That Sugar Film" and have nearly eliminated sugar from my diet. I'd recommend it to anyone trying to lose their gut.

People seem beyond shocked when I mention how much weight they can lose with even a remotely sensible diet alone. As one might guess, the biggest enemy is pop/soda and really anything that gets smashed on containing high fructose corn syrup.

Very true, and it's more shocking that an 8 oz glass of grape juice has a candy bar's worth of sugar in it.

Depends on the brand, I would suppose. Juices with even more added sugar to them? Yeah, they can get pretty bad.
Take a swing through the juice aisle, they are all loaded. Especially scary is what kids drink for apple juice. It makes me wonder about sugar crashes and attention deficit issues. Little kids can drink 5 apples worth of sugar, but could never eat 5 apples.

Don't forget artificial sweeteners. Stopped using anything with them in it a few years ago, and have not been sorry.

Just hang in there. It could be just a niggle. Big thing with shoulders is to take it slow in rehab...don't push it to pain...you don't want to get frozen shoulder, which can last for years and there's nothing you can do.

We're all thinking good thoughts for you!

Good news from the surgeon this morning. I'm cleared to start lifting again, I just need to take it easy for a while and avoid some lifts.

I'm probably going to wait a few more weeks until I actually go to the gym. I don't really see a point in pushing myself already and having a setback. I've been dealing with this since last June......what's a few more weeks of doing nothing?
It's a running planet fitness joke, more than anything. (Is planet fitness "going to the gym?" No sweating and free pizza tho) That's a long time man, I know it would be killing me.

I'm actually pretty jealous of buckeneye right now, I should be in ramp up mode (though our goals have almost nothing in common) was gonna really start ramping mid Feb, but tweaked my back, nothing serious but wanted to be all the way "right"- got that sorted and I got a cold, then bronchitis so, kind of limping along the last 2 weeks. Ground out a shitty slow 2K in the pool last night, sucked but better than nothing. See if I can get an hour of work in tomorrow morning and hopefully next week start feeling better.
