Disgraced Former Penn State DC Jerry Sandusky (convicted child molester)

what is my reasoning? precedent is my reasoning. find me a state that has a lifetime/death sentence for all absolutely proven child molesters. on the other hand, find me a state that has implemented chemical castration for some offenders being released to society. of the former, you'll find zero. of the latter, you'll find a handful. what i want and what can be done are two different things.

point taken and accepted. you are absolutely correct. there is a significant difference between what one would like to make happen and what one can put in place with the help of a group.

my apologies, i misunderstood your post. i took that idea to be your personal end all be all solution. while i would absolutely agree that it is a far cry better than just sending them back out the streets and telling them sternly, you be nice to those chiltrens from now on ya hear? to me, it feels more like a running experiment on whether or not there are individuals who can overcome the chemical castration and strike again in spite of it. but again, still better than literally nothing i suppose.

but as someone who was molested as a child im pretty harsh on rapists and child molesters. for me personally, "real" rape and molestation are far more serious crimes than murder. at least with murder once the victim dies thats the end of it for them. with "real" rape and molestation the victim dies as well, except that they don't. someone else comes forward and has to live with the consequences of actions taken by another for no better reason than getting their rocks off. but thats just me.

**NOTE - the "real" bit refers to some laws currently on the books that make certain things molestation and or rape that i find just horribly questionable. some of the age games with molestation for example which i find deeply troubling. such as consensual (<--certainly debatable) pre-existing high school relationships that are sexually active "are just fine" apparently until one of them has a birthday and then its molestation all the sudden. huh?

there are also some wording in a few of the rape laws that i find just really dicey.

as harsh as my view are on molestation and rape, i feel i need to be equally clear and certain that someone truly is guilty before i dub them deserving of what i would very happily do to them myself.

Jerry Sandusky lost a bid Wednesday for a new trial and a chance to convince a jury he is innocent of the child sexual abuse charges that landed him a decadeslong prison sentence.

Judge John Foradora ruled that he was denying Sandusky's request for a new trial and dismissal of the charges.

The former Penn State assistant football coach's lawyers have 30 days to appeal the judge's decision to the Superior Court.

Wednesday morning, a judge in Pennsylvania denied Jerry Sandusky’s request for a new trial. As part of his request, the convicted felon and former Penn State assistant coach had argued that grand jury leaks negatively affected his defense as well as claiming he had incompetent counsel in his first trial.
