DK Royal Stadium versus the Shoe....

Don't let people tell you that there are no bad seats in the Shoe. Be VERY careful if you buy a ticket in B deck. The place was built in 1916-18 and the best technology at that time was to pour massive concrete columns to support an upper deck. You get behind some of those beautys and you can loose as much as half the field of play. By the same token, there are no bad seats in C deck unless you get caught by the corners around the press box.

Oh, and yeah, one of the fun things to do as an undergrad sitting in C deck was to catch a pigeon or two with popcorn bait and take him down and turn him loose in B deck... nothing like bird poop to get a placid alum riled up.

ok, so if the only tickets that i can get(at a decent price) are in b deck, what are the sections to watch out for. if i am going to have obstructed view then i would rather be at a bar

oh, and to whomever said it, your right i wasn't joking, Clint was a hero growing up, our howdy doody band outfits should be in the gay pride parade though

IMO what makes the shoe the shoe.

Sometimes when you are young, you get the chance to do things that you don't appreciate until you are older. If you got to run around the bases at the Jake when you were 9, that would be a great story to tell people as you get older. But, when you are nine....Yeah it is exciting and it is cool but it doesn't make an impact.

When you grow up listening to Across the Field and Buckeye Battle Cry and Carmen Ohio it becomes pretty mundane when you are young. "Oh yeah, those are Ohio State songs." But on my 9th birthday my Dad took me to Columbus that Saturday morning. Saturdays in Columbus make an impact. You get it. I was 9 years old with goosebumps at the skull session.

The exact moment I got it.......During Carmen Ohio I looked over and saw a tear stream down a woman's face while smiling at the same time.

I have been there when it was rocking and I have been there when it was eerily silent (When the clock hit 00:00 vs scUM in 96). It is one of the most wonderful places on earth and it wouldn't matter where I went to watch a game. It wouldn't measure up to the shoe. It couldn't.

I got it when I was 9. Can't wait to get it again. It's been a long time.
