Yeah, this team is going to be confusing to outsiders! First we get Corey Brown from Pennsylvania, then we add Corey Brown from Pennsylvania. Now we have Cris Carter's son playing for us, but not to be mistaken for Chris Carter Jr! I love it!

Any word on if Pryor would give up his #2 for him? It seems like the right thing to do. :tongue2:

For some people, the whole whole Jonathan Wells/Maurice Hall/Maurice Clarett/Maurice Wells/Chris Wells thing caused confusion. Get ready for a lot of names/positions to get butchered over the next 4/5 years.

Edit: Also can't forget the bewilderment we all experienced over having two fullbacks, one named Branden Joe and one named Brandon Schnittker. I mean, how often does that happen?

Chris Carter Jr. (Cleveland JFK HS) ? Although a strikingly similar name to a certain OSU legend, this Chris is a little different than that Cris. Listed at 6?4 and 325 lbs., he projects as an OG and is ranked as a 4-star player on TR. He plays in the Cleveland Senate league which is dominated by Glenville HS, so it was easy for most colleges to overlook him seeing as he was not a Tarblooder. Due to having school off on Monday, Chris and his family took another unofficial visit to OSU and took a tour of the campus and met with the coaches. Upon their arrival back home, his mind was made up and he made the call in to Coach Jim Tressel. What makes Carter a special interior lineman is his unique athleticism given his size. He has great pulling speed, good footwork, stellar mean streak and constantly looks to finish off his blocks. He?s likely a little smaller than his reported measurements, but his intangibles make him a very attractive lineman to invest in.

It's easier when they're named after places, like San Antonio.

Chris "Big Hungry" Carter Non-Committal Prior to Commitment

Chris Carter became a member of the Ohio State 2011 Recruiting Class on March 15th in the midst of a big recruiting push by the Buckeyes. The 6'4" 325 lbs lineman from Cleveland JFK High School is part of a four member offensive line group that will add much needed depth for OSU which losses a number of lineman to graduation next year.

Chris Carter feels that dedication is his best quality as a football player. "My best attributes as a football player is dedication. Spending more time with your team than your family is a lot." he explained to us when we spoke with him recently.

He plays for JFK High School in Cleveland and goes up against Ted Ginn and the Glenville Tarblooders on a regular schedule. He had a break out game last time they played. "The highlight of my high school career is the game I played against Cleveland Glenville. I showed out that game."

Prior to a trip to Ohio State he hadn't visited any of the programs interested in his scholarship commitment. "Well I haven't made any trips yet but I'm due to make a lot of trips this month." he told us in early March.

But he knew at that time what was important to him. "In a college, I look for first education, then atmosphere, then location and finally the football program, I really don't have anything I look for in a football program, with the exception of a good student support system."

With offers from Miami (OH) and NC State, he was wide open. "I don't really have a favorite school. I'm trying to make an unbiased choice when I choose." But the Buckeye offer over the weekend of March 15th was all Carter needed to make up his mind.

JFK STAR CARTER IS HUNGRY TO SUCCEED, ON AND OFF THE FIELD

CLEVELAND ? John F. Kennedy (Cleveland) offensive guard Chris Carter isn't the man an opposing defensive lineman wants to see lining up across from him on Friday night.

He's huge in stature (6-4, 335), he's athletic, he's mean, and his tenacious play can be infectious to all of his teammates.

"I bring fire and intimidation," Carter told The Buckeye Times. "I bring dedication, I bring heart. I bring an aura of myself to the team."

Carter will be taking that aura to Columbus in the fall of 2011, as the young man they call "Big Hungry" ? a nickname given to him by his track coach ? has already given his verbal commitment to play football at Ohio State.

Carter said he chose the Buckeyes for a number of reasons, most notably their academics.

"It was the academic and athletic atmospheres they have at Ohio State," Carter said. "It's the legendary Ohio State University, but with the new and improved academic process where you cannot fail. If you want help, you'll get help. If you don't want help, you'll still get help. You will get to finish your career there.

"Another thing I love about Ohio State is the pressure."
