    Reported by Penny Moore
She left Columbus with dreams of stardom, but for the daughter of OSU's marching band director, those dreams were cut short.
Catherine Woods was murdered Sunday night in her New York City apartment.
Woods was stabbed to death sometime between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday. It was the 21-year-old's boyfriend, David Haughn, who called police. He told them he'd been out of the apartment for about 20 minutes checking on his car. When he came back, Woods was dead.
Woods went to New York City right out of high school. She'd been dancing since she was 3-years-old and just last week had called her parents to tell them she had a dancing and singing part in a off-Broadway show.
Dr. Woods spoke to 10TV about his daughter's dreams.
"Catherine has everything it takes to be a success; beautiful, great personality. She had a natural movement in dance just very, very natural. She had what it would take to get to the top but the dream ended," says Dr. Woods.
Woods lived in a very safe area of New York, on the Upper East Side.
While no suspects have been named in her murder, her boyfriend is now being questioned at a New York police station. Dr. Woods told 10TV that Woods' body will be brought back to columbus for her funeral.

How deeply saddened the Woods family must be. Condolences from us all, I am sure.

Guys, please don't speculate on anyone's involvement in this. It can be very hurtful at a time when all of these people will be quite distraught.

This is just terrible. I know Dr. Woods and my father and him are great friends. In fact, when my father retires, he is planning on running some clinics for Dr. Woods and teaching some music courses for him at OSU. This is a very difficult time for their family and my family's prayers are going out to them...:(
