Dr. Woods' Daughter murdered

Defense lawyer Laura Miranda struggled to overcome the strength of the fingerprint evidence, saying it was possible that Cortez, a former boyfriend of Woods, had touched the wall while the victim's menstrual blood was on his hand.

Huh? That was his reasonable doubt?

I feel for Dr. Woods and his family. This young man owes them something more.

Unfortunately the way our judicial/prison/parole system works (with good behavior) the scum bag will be out in a lot less than 25 years. :(

NEW YORK (AP) -- A man was sentenced today to 25 years to life in prison for killing a classically schooled dancer who left Ohio to try to become a Broadway performer but wound up working in a strip club. “He is a murderer, deserving nothing less than life in prison,” said Jon Woods, father of victim Catherine Woods.
Woods, director of the Ohio State University marching band, made his statement before State Supreme Court Justice Carol Berkman pronounced the maximum sentence against personal trainer Paul Cortez, who was Catherine Woods' ex-boyfriend.

I know there's lots of lawyers out there.
Please tell me that, with an indeterminate life sentence, that you at least have to serve the minimum number of years set forth? In this case, the 25.
