Through Irish Eyes, Garrett discusses his interest in ND but also says he is very excited to visit tOSU.

Pretty good update for the Bucks I would say. It's always nice when on another team's site, we are the first other team mentioned. Also, he has some nice things to say about ND, but did not seem all that interested, especially when you take into account the usual slant that the site gives.

The kids very quick in his lower body which will translate exceptionally on the football field. He has the frame for another 30 pounds of good weight also from watching that wrestling film. I'd love to see this kid come in next year and battle for a spot.

'Nasty' Goebel decides his future lies in football

March 23, 2007
BY TAYLOR BELL

Goebel is being recruited as a defensive tackle and offensive guard. Illinois and Ohio State like him so much that they have promised he could compete in football and wrestling if he wants to. He admits he prefers the Big Ten and hopes to make a decision before his senior year begins.

He has visited Illinois, Notre Dame and Iowa and plans to visit Ohio State on March 31.

Garrett speaks very highly about his visit to tOSU this weekend.

We were looking good before his visit, but we're in the driver's seat here folks...
Great update on Garrett. Some overzealous cliffjumpers get worked up over OSU's patience with recruits (in contrast to Mack Brown's 'commit now or the offer is gone' approach) and preference for smaller visits (in contrast to gigantic senior days), but it really pays dividends in situations like these.

By the man, Greg Powers...Garrett talks about visiting OSU this past weekend and meeting all of the coaches. He has decided to drop the idea of wrestling in college and seems to favor OSU and Wisconsin.

Love where we are with Garrett at this point...

EXACTLY!!!.....This "personalized visit" left a favorable impression, even excitement in a kid who has not been overly excitable after past visits to other Big 10 programs. However, by nature Garrett is very quiet, humble..much like Dexter Larimore whom Garrett spent Friday pm visiting. I think the quality / character of coaches / players that Garrett met with made him feel as though this may be the perfect fit for him.
