Met Tommy's dad today by total happenstance. I ended up coaching a LAX game against Tommy's younger brother. Great gentleman. Sounds like things are going well for Tommy.

Looking forward to seeing him on the field soon!

This guy is my pick for surprise impact on the D Line next year. With guys in his class like Washington and Spence being mentioned a lot more it's easy to forget him. Seems like I remember seeing him make plays many times last year. Very interested to hear reports about him during Spring ball. Would be absolutely huge to see him really step up and make a name for himself.

Agreed. He had a great year for being a true freshman. We just didn't hear all that much about him, as Spence and Washington seemed to get most of the pub.

Im surprised he hasnt been mentioned more as a starter. Ive read a lot of places where its assumed that hale will start. Though neither is a fall off, imo, schutt played a little better in limited time. Spring ball and conditioning will be interesting to say the least

Even though Spence and Washington got all the hype, Schutt seemingly got just as much PT and I recall seeing him on the field earlier than either of those guys. IIRC, I thought he got at least one start...

This is correct. Schutt (UCF) and Mike Thomas (Nebraska, Purdue) were the two freshmen who started a contest this year.

I think I read on Bucknuts recently that they predicted the 3 DL studs from the '12 class starting with Bennett. Washington, Schutt, Bennett and Spence. I'm sure there will be lots of debate on this and they admitted it was really up in the air. Regardless I see Schutt having a big impact. Loosing Hank in the middle matters more IMO than Simon on the edge and that's no disrespect to Simon. I just think Spence is primed to take off so the drop there appears less dramatic. If Schutt can somehow elevate his game big time the loss of these 2 seniors will be less noticeable. Captain Obvious has spoken.
