So like last night after the 3rd round ends Tommy could then say "I'm going back to college" and then he's removed from consideration the next day when round 4 starts.

That's absurd. So you're a coaching staff. You've scouted Tommy, you love him, but you have bigger needs elsewhere. You're picking at the end of the 3rd.....and again early in the 4th. The teams that pick between your picks have all taken a DT, so you're confident you can pick somebody else in the 3rd and get Tommy in the 4th. You've made decisions based off of this.

Then Togiai disappears? Nah.

Sure, Tommy is super strong, but he's not an ideal physical specimen - too short; short arms; small hands; too light for 1-tech; not quick enough for 3-tech. None of that was going to change with an extra year at Ohio State. His technique and motor are really good, so an extra year at Ohio State wouldn't have helped much there, either. Fourth round was probably about right (maybe even a little bit high).

By the way, Tommy is looking at a 4-year, $4.157 million contract, with $677,000 signing bonus. He'll only be 24 years old when he signs his second contract, which could be much bigger if he plays well during his initial contract. I think that he made the right move.

Tommy is the Buckeye I wanted most on the Browns so I'm pretty jacked.

But but but he doesn't have long arms lol. Is it football they play in the NFL or is it more like the West Minster Dog show where the person is judged based on the AKC standard?

Then they should have drafted Tommy in this scenario when they had the chance. The NFL teams would be fine either way but the ones that always pay the price here is the players that fall unexpectedly.

All hypothetical anyways but it'd be nice if it could be like basketball at a minimum.

Arm length helps with engagement on a lineman. Using that length to control and keep Oline from getting into your chest is key. Lack of interior control means it's harder to move or leverage you out of a gap.

Does it mean everything? No. But generally smaller Dline with shorter arms make their living off first step explosion and pad level.

Tommy lacks that elite first step or size. I'm sure he'll be a fine pro and contribute in a rotation. But there has been nothing to indicate he'll be a high level starter.
