High School Dublin Coffman Shamrocks

Look out for this incoming Freshman...
Mr. F, I have no desire to argue with you, however this information came from a conversation with a Dublin varsity-level coach. Whether or not he/she was disgruntled with some sort of lack of success is beyond me - I'm just reporting what I heard.

IF coaches are going to the middles, that is EXACTLY what schools do on an official basis in NYC top-level Catholic schools.

Oh yeah, I remember all of that - I just couldn't remember if there were other good examples. I just remembered that alot of the players from the mid-90's (Barnhart, Nosker, Orsack, Simpson, Billins, Fitzpatrick, etc.) were all Dublin kids. Actually, J. Wilkins (OSU baseball 1999-2002(3)) and his brother were rumored to be big transfers when they came to Dublin...
Donovan Shields 5'10 170lbs. Plays DE and maybe will see some S-Back and WR action. Has the skills to be pretty good before he leaves from Coffman.

A great look at the Dulin recruits not named Adams or Stoneburner...including Trey, Gardiner and Stoudt.
Zach has a younger brother named Cole who'll be a freshman this year. Got good size for a freshman and should improve over the next year. Another kid name Donovan Shields will be at Coffman also. Played DE and showed good speed and strength. Might see some time at WR because of his size 5'10 and 170lbs. 12.0 100 meter.

Talking to some people, we are not sure who Shields is. Or are you just talking about the freshman team?

He's just a freshman. Has that type of ability to play JV his first year although I don't think that they'll let him. I heard that he's training with one of OSU's strength and conditioning coaches and has gotten a few track tips from B. Reynolds at OSU. Should do well this year and years to come.

Gotcha, they historically do not let freshman play JV or Varsity, regardless. Only two in the last 10 years from what i have been told. Not even Adams or Stoneburner or Gardiner did.

One did in the late 90's and one in 2004.

Well, Nick Goings played varsity when we were freshman. So that's atleast one.

Different coaching staffs, obviously, but in my lifetime both Nick Goings (class of 1996) and Joe Wilkins (98) played up as frosh - both under coach Deal at DHS.

You are right, I meant to say 10 years and I notice I said 20. My bad and good catch. I edited prior post.

Bengals, do you know if Dublin Coffman has posted a schedule yet? I'd like to watch them sometime. Can you tell me that they're coming to Stark County sometime?

What kind of coach is Crabtree? I've heard, on one side, that he's the best coach some of his graduates have EVER had and on another that he keeps his distance from players and no close relationships with them.

Coach Crabtree is all class and anyone who has the opportunity to play for him is lucky.
