High School Dublin Coffman Shamrocks

Quite a game. Gahanna gave Coffman one heck of a ballgame.

Jake turned a few short passes into monster gains, one for a TD. He also put his team in position for the go ahead score (6 min left), but Stoudt's pass was intercepted at the goalline (ending an otherwise dominant series).

With about 3 min to go, Coffman stuffed Gahanna on 2nd & short then 3rd & short. On their own 25 or so, game tied, Gahanna gambled on 4th and got stuffed. Dublin then punched in the winning score.

Coffman was without Fairchild, who suited up but did not play a single snap. He brings a tremendous speed package, lining up uner center at times.

Will have photos up tomorrow, and hopefully video during the week.

Jake Stoneburner went deep for a long TD pass on the first drive of the game.

With about a minute to go, Dublin Coffman missed a FG try.

Pick Central threw an INT on the ensuing drive, but it was wiped out by a pass interference call.

P.C. then ran a WR screen turned WR pass play to get the ball deep into Coffman territory. After picking up another first down, the clock was stopped by a timeout.

With :08 to go, P.C. found a streaking WR in the endzone to tie it up. The camera man up on the crane even caught the kick. :)

what did you personally think of some of the kids?
Stoneburner turned in his best outing that I've witnessed. His athleticism & potential is always on display, but he turned in a more consistent, aggressive day as a wideout and blocker. Besides his leaping TD, his screen pass TD was equally impressive... which you'll see on video sometime this week (thanks to Corey Miller).

Z (Stoudt) had an off day, throwing some errant passes along with some great throws. Still plenty of potential, but he looked much better in other games I've watched this year.

Gardiner shows good speed & instincts at LB, though a bit undersized, but his partner #42 is also very disruptive up front and routinely making plays in the backfield.

Shaun "Scooby" Jones has been a workhorse for this team. His speed, vision & agility have provided some excellent balance for Dublin's aerial assault.

Fairchild made a number of bigtime plays, after missing action in recent weeks. It was good to see him begin to return to his old self, which they'll need against St. X.
