Apparently it originated in NJ.

@NJ-Buckeye did you feel it?
Epicenter 20 miles NW of me... it was intense... this is my 4th but #2 in intensity only behind my LA experience when I lost my earthquake virginity
I pretty much knew what was going on... but still thought maybe a truck ran into my garage but then it rumbled another 10 times.. still ran outside
then I ran downstairs... this was a great post I just read "North of Manhattan, in The Bronx, the extended tremor was described as feeling like a giant washing machine operating with an unbalanced load.".. so I went to see if I had an appliance issue or water tank explosion... Haven't checked for cracks but definitely strong enuf..

Only have my 3 big dogs here today... one was pissed, the other two must have thought this was play time bell and immediately started aggressively wrestling

A buddy who works right near epicenter said he thought the building next to his exploded and he ran to the door literally expecting a fireball explosion...

Earthquake experiences
1) LA
2) Akron (I think epicenter was like in Missouri)
3) Here (epicenter was like near Baltimore)
4) Today

My first earthquake I was in LA. It was really intense but I got very nervous because the building shook for a long time... till a coworker who knew this was my first ran to me and said... "the earthquake is over but this is a new building and it's on rollers... so it rolls back and forth to dissipate the energy"

Anyone else feel it? It woke me up.. very odd. I thought I was consciously dreaming. Turns out I wasn't. Pretty weird.

The Columbus Dispatch : Midwest earthquake felt throughout Ohio

WEST SALEM, Ill. (AP) -- A 5.4-magnitude earthquake that appeared to rival the strongest recorded in the region rocked people up to 450 miles away early Friday, surprising residents unaccustomed to such a powerful Midwest temblor.

Several callers to ONN: Ohio News Network reported feeling the quake.

One caller in Perry County said she woke to the shower doors in her bathroom shaking. A woman in Parma reports her laundry basket fell off the table. Other callers in central and northeast Ohio also reported feeling the quake.

The quake just before 4:37 a.m. was centered six miles from West Salem, Ill., and 66 miles from Evansville, Ind. It was felt in such distant cities as Chicago, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, and Des Moines, Iowa, 450 miles northwest of the epicenter, but there were no early reports of injuries or significant damage.

As I'm typing this, I think I'm feeling some smaller quakes.. my apartment has had some shakes a few times in the last couple minutes.

Feels like someone is behind my couch pushing it. :tongue2:

I feel much better now. My wife wasn't home last night, but this morning she told me on the phone that a little earlier she felt the earth move.

Last time an earthquake of that magnitude struck the upper-midwest/Great Lakes was 1968.

1968 was a good year for OSU football.

It's an omen.

Oh, and the Spring Game in 2002 was a sloppy washout.

2002 was a good year too.
