Emory Jones (QB Florida, transfer to Arizona St., transfer to Cincinnati)

Jones flirted for too long with too many teams. Ohio State, Bama, and Auburn all basically walked away, leaving Florida as the last team left.

A kid who is "fully committed" doesn't visit other schools. He especially doesn't visit multiple other schools multiple times. Jones has not been an Ohio State commitment, in any real sense of that word, for a long time now.

Look at the timing of the Baldwin commitment (right after the in-home with Jones) if you don't believe that Ohio State finally got fed up and walked away from Jones.

Well, I guess, "watch what they do, not listen to what they say" goes for coaches too...

This is interesting if true. He seemed all in on Bama and then all of a sudden it was nothing. It almost feels like jones has been scrambling around for the last 2 weeks looking for a place to sign. Bama was dominating and got multiple visits. Then Auburn beats bama handedly results in an auburn visit. That may have not sat well with Saban. My guess is words have not matched actions in the eyes of at least 3 schools. Just a thought to explain sudden surge by Florida out of nowhere.

If you're not with the one you love, love the one you're with.

I’ve heard the comparisons to Shaun Wades recruitment which seems like apples and oranges to me. Not every early commitment followed by other visits is the same.

I’ve said in so many words that I think something is missing with EJ. Being a great QB is way more than being able to spin it. Way, way more. And I’m not saying EJ doesn’t have it. But I am saying something just hasn’t felt right for a while. Is the mental part of the game the reason he didn’t do well in the Elite 11? Maybe.

Players absolutely should look around all they need to. And how they carry themselves during that process gives some insight into other intangibles.

This guy has tons of potential. I hope he is able to capitalize on it.

I dunno man. I get the looking around. And I get the early playing time. There's a part of me that thinks there's a phone call tonight to the 43210 that says that he still wants to be part of the class. I could totally be wrong... and I certainly wouldn't put any money on it. Just a hunch.

That said, I went all in against Iowa so if you are $$$ putting on it, don't.

You had to pull the Iowa card.

Sheesh.

Yeah, in the old days, we'd be going down to the wire, wondering if we were going to land him. Now, everyone wants to be a Buckeye to some extent, so the question is more along the lines of, "Does he really want to come here, or is it just kind of cool in the moment to accept the offer of UFM?"
