Pretty good showing, but not skrong enough. I think I'm going to hear that tomahawk chop ringing in my head for a week, I think they did it after every defensive play. Would have been nice to have Russell playing in this game instead of being suspended, Crab man tore us up through the air in the 2nd half.

Yeah, he's honestly looking a lot like 2012 Golson instead of the way he came in to start 2014. The turnovers are sloppy, he hasn't learned to tuck the ball when he's running. I'd really like to see Malik Zaire from Alter get some snaps because Golson has been inconsistent. Can't have your QB being so up and down like that.

Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson, who played against LSU less than a week ago, is interested in becoming a Tiger. The senior, who is scheduled to graduate in May, has reached out to LSU about transferring there for his final season of NCAA eligibility.

Golson, who helped the Irish to a 31-28 victory against LSU in the Music City Bowl, could join the Tigers with immediate eligibility for the 2015 season. The SEC lifted its ban on allowing graduate transfer students last May. Golson would have one season of eligibility.

LSU is exploring the possibility but would have to obtain a waiver from the conference office since Golson was declared academically ineligible for the 2013 season. The SEC rule allows graduate student transfers without waivers if the student maintained eligibility, had no significant disciplinary issues at the old school and earned all possible APR points.

Graduate transfers are required to make progress toward a graduate degree, otherwise the school won't be able to apply the grad-student exception in that athlete's sport for three years.

Golson, a 6-foot, 200-pounder from Myrtle Beach, S.C., led Notre Dame to the 2013 BCS championship game after the 2012 season where the Irish lost to Alabama, 42-14. After sitting out 2012 he passed for 256 of 427 passes for 3,445 yards and 29 touchdowns with 14 interceptions in 2014.

He started the Irish's first 12 games but was replaced as starter by sophomore Malik Zaire against LSU in the Music City Bowl. Golson played in the game and completed six of 11 passes for 90 yards.

What a sham this whole system is. The irony of a kid who was declared academically ineligible (suspended.....whatever) FOR CHEATING and is now magically graduating on time AND wanting to pursue a graduate degree at another school....that just happens to be a football power.....man, oh man. It's just too much for this guy. It's damned absurd, is what it is.




(Not that I believe Anthony Lee really transferred to OSU for its ACADEMIC'S -- not because they had an opening at the #4 spot -- but at least he wasn't suspended for an entire semester for violating a university's academic honor code.)

To be fair, Golson wouldn't have had any problems with the LSU honor code.

If Golson is considering transferring, he most likely won't have any problems transferring to the SEC. From what I've seen elsewhere, since Golson's academic issue was on a test and he was never deemed academically ineligible (Suspended as a disciplinary issue only, honor code I believe), that shouldn't prevent him from transferring under the "academically ineligible" rule. I've also heard that he's been in contact with South Carolina, UCLA, Texas, and a few others. It's unlikely he goes to LSU, based on what insiders are saying, that's just the first school to be named as a suitor. Since Golson can't transfer until (if) he graduates in the spring, he will likely play through spring ball at ND to see where he still resides on the depth chart.

If it was up to me, I would stick with Malik at QB honestly. Golson has never been able to correctly run the zone read, he has the same problem Andrew Hendrix had where they can't correctly perceive the edge and whether or not they need to keep it or hand it off. Golson has obviously had turnover issues as well, and his confidence has appeared completely shattered going down the stretch. Zaire has been a more vocal leader on the field, he runs the read option correctly, and he still has a pretty good arm to back it up (Although probably not as strong as Golson's).
