Fall Camp and Other Tidbits

Liking a lot of the updates, but definitely concerned that LT is not sorted out yet. I am hoping that is simply because Munford is battling an injury and that is why Alabi is rotating in. With Bowen out (who I believe was rumored to be working out at LT), really hoping we have the answer for that position. From LG over to RT, I think we are going to be outstanding though.

But very excited on most of the updates. Should get a good chance to assess most of the two-deep against Oregon State on Saturday, and see some of our new freshmen.

While I think we probably will see some true Freshman, I'm also interested in how they manage the new rules. Do we really want to burn up a game towards their 4 when it might be better to have a guy, say Gill, ready to go in the last 4 games of the season?
Good point, but for the better frosh you also have to ask if they are 5 year players. If not, then go ahead and burn it.

For sure.. just will be interesting to see how calculated they are... I mean.. they probably know NPF is good enough to move a schlub from Oregon State around... but.. do they need him available for the scUM game more than they need to know if they're right about moving said schlub around?

Incidentally... does the bowl game count towards the 4? I would think yes, just don't know for sure.

Another good question. IMO it shouldn't, but what I can find on it indicates that it will.

NPF BTW is an example of a player who wont be here 5 years, so why worry about a RS?

A thing I noticed when looking at the depth chart is that 28 of the 58 guys listed on offense and defense are Sophomores or younger.

OL and WR are going to turn over big time after '18 but this team is young. Only 10 SR's on the 85 man roster.Say maybe a half dozen JR's go pro early now you lose 15-16 guys. Y still have the 2017 class in tact for the next two years.

Great times

I'm under the impression that they'll allow them to play 2 games earlier in the season and "save" 2 for later in the season in case of an injury and if said injury doesn't happen, they'll be ready for bowl game.

Much as I don't like to quote John Cooper, Ohio State's greatest teams tend to "bite as pups." See, for example, the 1968, 2002, and 2014 title teams vs. loaded veteran 1969, 2003, and 2015 teams that failed to capture the brass ring.
