I miss Penn Station. They were all over the place in NE Ohio when I lived there. "East Coast Subs" was their tag line and their Italian is, in my IMO, how that sandwich should be done. Now I live on the actual East Coast and not a Penn Station around. None of the local places makes a sub (or 'grinder' as they're called here) that's even close to what they do, which is surprising. Discovered DiBellas Subs. If you get the "Godfather," have them toast it, put on the veggies, don't forget the banana peppers and oil and vinegar, you get pretty coast to a Pen Station sub.
What is an East coast sub though? First of all, they aren't "subs" there, and it is just stuff you ask to be put on some bread. It isn't really a "thing." I think more of Chicago or the Midwest.
