2024 FL(IN) DT Jayden Jackson (Oklahoma Verbal)

Love where we are at here, somehow missed the LDS/Polynesian ties but yeah that helps with the recent players we have had. At first I was not enthused on Jackson being the first DT in, but it appears he is vastly underrated by the sites. Maybe part of the reason for the IMG transfer was to highlight his talent. It will be interesting to see how he performs at IMG but I perceive that he is a take by the staff and not a backup option.

I just watched Jayden's film, and he is definitely a TAKE. Dude could potentially play 3-tech, 5-tech, or even nose tackle at the next level, eating up 2 o-linemen on the inside. Jayden is nimble and is good at hand fighting, beating his man and flying to the ball carrier. He could be a killer with Mick & LJ's tutelage

I don't understand how he's flying so far under the radar whilst playing at that high of a level for IMG. Am I missing something? How is this guy a high 3*/low 4*?

What I’ve read is that he didn’t get a lot of snaps at IMG because he came off the field every 3rd down and a lot of 2nd downs of it was 2nd and long. But I also heard that the coaches at IMG feel he’s as good a DT as they’ve had, and that says A LOT!

A DLine class of Stewart, Scott, Jackson, Houston would be more than ideal!

I REALLY want this kid in the class, BUT if OSU were to miss on him. I can see viable options in OH to play alongside Scott
First of all, just want to say that I really appreciate this site as it helps me learn a lot about the recruits that the Buckeyes are after.
Questions - Does "viable options in OH" mean mean ohio kids who play defensive tackle? If so, do you have any names I can look up? I'm one of those fans who get even more excited when Ohio kids are offered. Thanks.

Glad that you appreciate the info!

And to answer your question, yes guys that can play DT. But they dont have the ideal bodies for the interior yet. Some names to remember:
Francis Brewu(Washington commit)- AG likes him a lot as a plan B option
Angelo McCollum(Illinois commit)
Demetrius John(Illinois commit)
Chase Bond(NC State commit)
All of them are from the Columbus area. And not to sound cocky, but I think that OSU could flip any of these kids if they pushed. But they would all need close to 3yrs in college as projects(possibly 2).

Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy defensive lineman Jayden Jackson is set to make his college choice known on Thursday and will announce on the 247Sports YouTube Channel.

Jackson will announce at 5:00PM (ET) from a final five that includes Florida, Miami, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Texas. He was able to officially visit all five schools in what was a hectic June and we still don’t have a great feel for who leads this race.

Jackson cut his list to those five programs back in May and told us what he liked about each of his finalists:

Ohio State- “Growing up, Ohio State was the dream school for me. That was my favorite team and I really enjoyed watching them and seeing them rise up to one of the best teams in football. That was a huge offer for me and it was a no-brainer to put them in my top five. Larry Johnson is known as one of the best DL coaches in the country and development is going to play a big role in my decision.
