2024 FL WR Joshisa Trader (Miami, FL. Verbal)

We need at least 4 and probably 5... because we're going to lose folks to the portal...
I think 4 is the WR number, and it'll be 4.5 if/when SWD commits.

For sure, he is worth pursuing but is gravy if we land him...the really good gravy, like Bob Evans gravy, but gravy nonetheless. Aside from stellar past WR classes and already having Smith and Graham in the fold, there are a lot of other WR targets in this class if Trader doesn't pan out. Would be stoked if Trader was the third guy though.
And fully agree, Trader is the gravy, cherry, whipped cream or whatever food analogy that takes a food from good to great, or great to legendary. But I just wanted to keep things in some type of perspective, in case people were expecting some stretching bananas after the weekend.

A little while ago at OT7 Phoenix, Trader cleared up some chatter that Miami was the front-runner in his recruitment. The Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna five-star receiver who could also excel at defensive back said while the Hurricanes had been recruiting him the hardest and making an impression, he did not have a leader.
Miami is still very much in focus for Trader especially with Kevin Beard now on staff and some close to him encouraging him to pick the Hurricanes. But Trader also likes Ohio State a ton and his teammate, five-star WR
Jeremiah Smith, is committed there. It’s basically those two right now with Florida State and others in the mix, too.

If the decision was entirely up to the five-star wide receiver then this could be a battle between Ohio State and Florida State for the Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna standout but some close to Trader are pushing MIami hard and so the Hurricanes are definitely a contender here.
Trader also likes Miami since that coaching staff has paid him so much attention but in his eyes the Buckeyes and the Seminoles stand out most.

Let the rich get richer at WR, lets land this guy. In my eyes, everything after Smith and Graham is gravy with how we have recruited the position, but I am greedy and I am sure Hartline and Co. feel the same way. Either of Hudson or Trader would be a great haul, I have no preference...but Trader already has the relationship with Smith and it would be cool to see them both here.

The WR room from two years ago is already getting squeezed, with two of the best fleeing for better playing opportunities. Agree with Bestbuck and believe it'll be squeezed even more. Incoming WRs (Tate and Inness and Noah) seem to have leaped the sophs/RS frosh already, and with the two (Smith and Graham) coming in, can see several more moving on as well. Cannot blame them, but that's the penalty for so much recruiting success. tOSU has seen same scenario play out at DE and QB, both strengths of the Buckeyes. Heck, saw an article that 5 out of last six QB transfers won the Heisman!?! so there's that. Anyone out there left one job for another due to more pay, stock options, better company prospects? I know I have...

I think this is just the cost of doing business now. Bama squeezed out top HS ranked DL, RB, QBs, etc who didn’t fit their standard, as have many of the SEC programs. We should only want the best playing at OSU just like the rest of the top programs. And honestly, we should want the transfers to leave and have the opportunity to succeed at their next destination. I’ll be rooting like heck for the C(K)alebs during their football, same with the rest who transferred out. But I want the best to stay in S&G and win titles
