Trying to steal my thunder huh ? Posted that yesterday. That video had me cracking up. It ran off the pitch & they continued play, only for it to run back on & play was stopped again. Impressive dive & grab by that player though. Didn't even struggle one bit to swoop it up. Should've gotten a bonus or something for that effort if you ask me.

Sorry - didn't see you had posted it. A buddy sent me a link to ESPN with that soccer 'highlight' and thought it belonged here. :p

Just playing with you. Meant no harm. Yeah, it's weird that you hardly ever see any other sport where the players actually try to go after & catch animals when they run on the field. In Baseball & Football, the players usually just stare at them and wait for someone else to do it, but in Europe the players tend to take things into there own hands.

And just to clarify something that originally confused me: teams are playing in multiple different competitions concurrently. For instance, Manchester United is currently playing their Premier League season; they are playing in the Champions League (they actually just got knocked out last week); and they are playing in the FA Cup. All of these competitions are happening at the same time. Winning the Premier League doesn't mean you move out of the Premier League and into the Champion's League - it means that next season, you will be playing in both.

That's something I also was curious about. I thought so much movement would lead to some watered down leagues, but this makes much more sense. That's pretty cool.

Spurs doing what they do best today. The tie is now level at 3-3 thru 78 mins. at the San Siro, and Spurs look like they have no chance of getting the one goal that would put this thing to bed for them.

Also, Gallas is worse than useless. Past time to send to the [strike]IKEA meatball[/strike] glue factory.

Cambiasso misses a sitter that would have won the tie after Gallas duffs another tackle.

Lennon gets shoved down from behind, ref looks for his whistle and can't find it, says "fuck it."

That's full time, and Spurs have earned an extra thirty minutes in a match they have no interest in. The football gods have a sense of humor.

Somehow, Spurs get through.

That was the worst, most dire [Mark May] I've ever seen.

Yeah, I kept thinking while following that match online if Chelsea would take Villas-Boas back (if he never got sacked) right now if they had a choice.

The club could at least build with a manager. Even if "The Great One" comes back, he could bolt at any moment.

AVB didn't exactly cover himself in glory today either. 4-4-2 was a bad idea, perhaps done out of necessity. Adebayor is still in poor form (his winning goal notwithstanding), Defoe is neither fully fit nor on form, and the only preferred midfielder available for selection today was Dembele. I can see being aggressive and wanting to go for the early away goal to put the tie to bed. When it became clear though that Spurs didn't look like scoring and that Inter was dominating play, why not go back to the 4-2-3-1 they have played for most of the season to get an extra body in midfield and try to wrest back control of the tie? Why not bring Caulker on earlier in place of Gallas, who was living a nightmare out there? Even though most of the players today couldn't give a shit, I think he still could have managed it a bit better to still wrap it up without extra time.

Europa League draw:

Chelsea v Rubin Kazan
Tottenham v Basel
Fenerbahce v Lazio
Benfica v Newcastle

Couldn't have asked for a better draw for Spurs. Chelsea and Newcastle probably couldn't have asked for worse.
