Frickin' Hawaii Time-Warner!!

I agree Bucnut27, Mili would really like DirecTV if he gets it. Any of you out there who have DirecTV, I wonder if you have access to a channel called "NFL Total Access" ? I can't get enough of this, its a great channel and its free on DirecTV. Check it out

Mili, anyone can self install a dish and get it right. I did it on my roof at 60 yrs and have never had to adjust it.
I put your zipcode onto my dish. For you to get a a perfect picture check these coordinates.
Elevation 34.6
Azimuth 232.6

I aimed mine with a 50 cent compass. If you have a clear view in that specific direction you can set the whole thing up in less than an hour.
You will need another person in the house looking at the picture to tell you when your picture is perfect. At that point you tighten the nuts on the dish.

Bucknut27 mentioned that that you can get four dishes for free. Welll, not exactly free. you have to pay $5 for each of those receivers every month.
Also, if you get ones of those "deals" you may have to get more of a package than you want.

Also, I believe that those dishes don't have an inferred sensor that attaches to the front of your VCR/DVD recorded and tell the VCR?DVD to turn on and start to record. I wouldn't have a dish that doesn't do that.

Actually, it's called the NFL Network. Total Access is a great show. I have a feeling it's going to be even better once the NFL season starts. On Sat. night of preseason, they have a show that just shoots back and forth between 6 or 7 live exibition games.

My only issue with DirecTV is the business pratice by it's sister broadband company, (DirecWay). One of the most crooked companies that I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. This is a company that basically enjoined me into a contract without my knowledge or consent and bilk me out of around $300 dollars.

Be careful out there gents...

Well, I called Oceanic one more time yesterday and they confirmed that they will NOT have GamePlan at all this season, saying the survice that provides it to them (OnDemand) did not include in the overall package. So, I ordered DirectTV last night with an install date of Tuesday (Sep 7th). They said GamePlane was available and I ordered it, so if the installation goes on time I'll only have to resort to going to a sports bar once.

Nice, Mililani. I was this >||< close to getting DirectTV/GamePlan this season, but opted to wait until next year. My wife and I have never had cable, so I've always either driven to Denver to my buddy's place w/ GamePlan or gone to the bar in Denver where OSU ALum congregate. At any rate, I'll have to wait until next season to enjoy every game with all the comforts of home.

I think seeing one game in a sports bar at 6:00 a.m. with a bunch of other Buckeye fans will be cool, but there's something about staggering half asleep to the TV at 6:00 a.m., popping open a cold one, and having the first thing of your day being the Buckeyes on TV. Now that's how to start a weekend!

Mili - Hope that you enjoy your DirecTv. Watched it all day here and the NFL Direct was great also, going back and forth with all the exhibitions pro games, plus viewing the TCU / NW game. I can't beleive the horned frogs are hanging with the Cats. 38 - 38 in the 4th. Tip a cold one for me saturday morning in hopes that "Frances" bypasses via going up the coast and not touching us here in Florida.

Well, finally got my DirectTV installed. I only got to see a little of it since I had to go back to work after lunch, but from little I've seen, the picture quality just frickin' blows cable away. The only problem I have right now is that the customer service bimbo who activated the service for me said she can't give me the GamePlan for the $99 early-order price, because I activated the service today. But, their web site said order by Sep 3rd, not activate. Anyway, I told her to put GamePlan on my order even though they're charging $119 for it, so hopefully it'll be up and running this Saturday. I will write a letter to corporate, though, to get my $20 back.

They tried that crap with me. Directtv did away with their partnership with Pegasus, which is who I went through. So when I called to get extra recievers and the gameplan again, the lady said I would be treated as a new customer. When they came and installed my stuff and I activated it, the Bimbo told me I wasnt considered a new customer which is Bullshit. I never paid one bill to DTV it was always pegasus so essentially I was a new customer. To make a long story short, I kept going up the food chain and asking for supervisors. After about an hour and a half, I ended up with everything free including gameplan and 4 months worth of premium channels. I did threaten to jerk everything out and go straight to dish network about five times. Other than that I haven't ever had a bad experience with Directtv.
You do have to pay 5.00 a month extra for each reciever but you dont have to have a certain package.

DirectTV as well as Dish Network are great. I prefer DTV, because I get the NFL Sunday Ticket.

Glad to hear you got that all cleared up Mili, and finally made the leap to DTV. Aside from the Buckeye games, I love getting the other big games that would not normally be shown.

You should just be able to call a supervisor to get your 20 bucks back. Like Bucknut27 said above,, they usually respond positively when you mention the name Dish Network.

At least you get another 3 1/2 hours of sleep for this weeks game ! You'll have to hold off on the B+T's until 9:30 am. Have fun .

:oh: :io:
