Benching re-energizes Buckeyes' Lewis

Senior's offense, defense improve for Ohio State.

Wednesday, March 14, 2007

COLUMBUS ? Ron Lewis walked out of his last class Tuesday at Ohio State.
"A new man," is what the senior men's basketball player felt like after leaving Sociology of Sport for the final time.

"I don't have to worry about finals or getting to the next class," Lewis said with a big smile. "I just get to worry about basketball."
Ohio State's coaching staff has gotten inside the psychology of Lewis' game. Lewis was pulled from the starting lineup Feb. 18 at Minnesota in favor of Daequan Cook.

Flash back in Lewis' dash

Wednesday, March 14, 2007 Doug Lesmerises

Plain Dealer Reporter
Columbus- Ron Lewis came around just in time. After spending most of the season finding his way, Ohio State's senior speeding slasher has redis covered his role in the Buckeyes' offense in the last three weeks.
"I'm just happy, and that's the way I'm playing," Lewis said.
His happy place is on the run and at the rim, not at the 3-point line, and he'll need to lead Ohio State's transi tion game in the NCAA Tourna ment. Starting Thursday against Central Connecticut State, the Buckeyes will face teams more equipped than those in the Big Ten to keep up with them.

A New Lewis

Wednesday, March 14, 2007

Ron Lewis started the season as the Buckeyes' go-to guy without Greg Oden in the lineup, then struggled more than any Buckeye to integrate his game with Oden's. But in his last seven games, since a benching at Minnesota, Lewis has found his game again within the flow of the Ohio State offense and stopped jacking up 3-pointers.

Amazing, this thread started with a story about BGSU and their sour grapes about Ron Lewis leaving. Bowling Green, whatever you did to make him leave, Buckeye Nation THANKS YOU. Just when I thought that Oden's slam against Purdue in the Big Ten Tourney was the most memorable shot of the season I am proven very wrong.

BGSU Loss = tOSU HUGE Gain
