Game Thread Game Five: Penn State 17, Ohio State 10 (Final)

Are you kidding me??? He takes one look at his primary receiver and if he's covered he's going to take off. Yes, every now and again he will force himself to look down to his secondary receivers (and my goodness does it look forced). Hell, he even threw to Pittman tonight for a first down. When is the last time an Ohio State QB threw to a running back? The spring game?
It's not entirely his fault. The coaches are trying to force a square peg into a round hole here.
I realize you're pissed because we lost, and you have a stereotype you want to bash, but he didn't do anything of the sort. He threw to Hamby, Stan White, Pittman, etc. Complain that he always throws 100 mph, or that he fumbles snaps. But the kid stood in the pocket all day long today. Davie pointed it out at least 3 times for you on one drive.

It really is unbelievable that Ginn is completely out of the game plan now. That reverse was almost like the coaches covering their asses so they wouldn't have to answer any questions about not getting Ginn the ball. This is a poor, poor offensive football team.

And if Brandon Schnittker is the back up tailback then this team is in a world of hurt. Running the option to Schnittker???

Penn State made the turnovers and OSU didn't adjust to move the ball.
Thanks the sum.
At least OSU can stop talking National Championship. And maybe they'll try to recruit better kids than the 15 from Ohio that they pull in every year.

You're way off here.... Penn State wasn't being hyped as a NC contender were they? We were right? Clrearly our 15 Ohio recruits are more than talented, we just got our asses beat in the trenches and made a critical error (turnover).

I held back dinging you after the first two bashes on our team, but no longer.

They ran a bubble screen to Ginn, a sweep to Ginn, a reverse handoff to ginn, and a ton of passes to ginn. Go call 1460 and complain how they never try to get ginn the ball. in the meantime

I think we have serious offensive issues, the biggest one being the line. But to say that they didn't try to get Ginn the ball is just stupid. If anything, GONZO needed the ball more.

For the lunacy that claims he was outcoached, that's something else. They got an INT and started at the 1, that had nothing to do with Tressel or JoePa. Take away that drive and its 10-10. The players from PSU outplayed OSU, that's what you meant to say.

We got outplayed/coached on special teams and offense. The defense was awesome. The offense gave PSU 7 POINTS. JOEPA OUTCOACHED TRESSEL BY A LARGE MARGIN.

I am not going to call Tressel out as a bad coach but what pisses me off the most is that our offense has so much talent and we continually put up this stinker of games. I mean how many times have I read on here that people would give anything for our backup WR's, Pittman is looking better and we put up 10 points. Tressel needs to look at that and lose some pride. We can recruit great offensive talents but can't get them the ball. I mean take Ginn you don't think that teams facing USC don't game plan to stop Reggie Bush but they find ways to get the playmakers the ball...

I really don't have much to say about tonight's game except for a few comments.

The D is once again left to carry the team and played consistently great football.

Please recruit two TE's and two powerful RB's, one of which can be a FB, every year.

Give Peterson the OL job completely.

This Jekyll and Hyde performance by the offense is incredibly frustrating. It just seems like there still is no consistent identity on that side of the ball.

Hats off to Penn State for turning our formula on us. They had the crowd into it, played great defense and the offense did not lose it for them.
