Just finished ASoS. Should have read the books from the beginning. Time for A Feast for Crows.

It's so worth it. Book one follows the first season extremely well. The second season is the farthest away from source so far, imo. There's just so much internal monologue missing from the series. Not to mention Ned's fever dreams while imprisoned. Tower of Joy. Arthur Dayne, the Sword of the Morning telling Ned "and now it begins", and Ned responding "no...now it ends". Just epicness throughout. Howland Reed. The Knight of the Laughing Tree story...just amazing.

the lore and back-story are pretty amazing in the books. Not much room for all of that in the show.

Oh yeah, for sure. Just saying that it's worth reading all of the books even if you've watched the show.

Also, don't judge the entire series by AFFC and ADWD. They're definitely slower paced, though I enjoyed the writing in both immensely. The Manderleys are a fucking awesome house. Also, Dunk and Egg is worth a read as well.

People/storyline I absolutely do not care about:

Samwell+Tarly.jpg

Sam and his quest to hookup with the damaged goods girl north of the wall

If you're tired of Ser Samwell, don't read the books. I'm about halfway through A Feast For Crows and I'm about ready for this fat fuck to do something worth a damn at all, other than be a retching craven. Maybe it will come about, but I am disappointed every time I see his name on the next chapter.

From Season 1, but a goodie nonetheless. A little bit of language some would deem distasteful, but quite entertaining. I wonder how he felt about the Red Wedding ?

I'm assuming that's the famous "they killed my n**** Ned".

If so, he was spoiled on the RW. Dude did YouTube reviews for GoT, anf frankly, after season one was over, his reviews sucked dragon Dick. He was taking writing classes in college and started bitching because the show didn't do what he thought it should do.
