Game Thread Game One: Ohio State 34, Miami of Ohio 14 (final)

MililaniBuckeye said:
"When it counted, they're defense was terrible". The games that BG gave up their top four point totals were:

Oklahoma (40)
Toledo (49)
Marshall (35)
Memphis (35)

How do those games count more than the four game I listed for Miami? And their schedule wasn't any more pansy-assed than Miami's.

They had an equal schedule? That's laughable. You must have missed this post.

Miami had the 42nd ranked SOS last year and BG had the 115th ranked SOS.

Read my current edit that I posted while you were making your post:

"They had four common opponents: Ohio, Western Michigan, Marshall, and Toldeo. Bowling Green gave up a total of 100 points to them (16, 0, 35, 49) while Miami gave up 109 points (20, 21, 33, 35). Gee, that would imply to me that Bowling Green's "awful" defense compares pretty well with Miami's "stellar" defense."

Kinda blows the fuck out of your SOS argument, doesn't it? Then again, you should be used to that by now.

Agree to disagree...Anyway...

So is Boekman starting this game? I heard Zwick's ankel is OK and he'll be good to go?

Zwick will start but how long will he play? His ankle can't be completely healed. Will we see Boekman early? And how much will Tress show? I think Miami will make it interesting for a half!

Interesting that BG scored 24 on "mighty" Oklahoma!

Overkill? Phil Steele thinks this is the best unit in the MAC and all 3 LB's are glorious. I'd trust his opinion any day.

If you read what I wrote in the defensive preview on the front page you'd see that we are on the same page from a linebacker standpoint. What I do not agree with is your assessment that their front 7 is excellent as a whole, when in reality they have 4 guys (3 lbs, and their DE Johnson) who are good.

OH, I got to see Lakota West's number 21(don't recall his name) but he is an amazing WR. Great speed, and very elusive. I saw him at the Mason-LW game.

I think I saw him drop 2 passes, that's it. He made a one handed catch like twice, which surprised me(I was rooting for Mason and Lebanon.) Good game, and I hear he's also playing bball for OSU. That's what I was told by some of the LW crowd.

Good to keep him in state, and not let him outta Ohio.

tailgating is all over the place CRH. If you're looking for a party, go to heinygate in front of the Holiday Inn. Otherwise, check the Alumni house on the other side of the olentangy, or any other parking lot farther away from the stadium.

Mililani... Miami played Toledo twice, and also held Ohio to something like 7 yards on the ground.

Miami is know in the MAC for it's D, and BG isn't. BG's D falters, and the reason they don't lose is because their offense can pick up the slack.(score 40 points or more)

Miami's offense has that ability, but doesn't always.
