Game Thread Game Three: Ohio State 27, San Diego State 6 (final)

Lets look at one key positive --

Every team the Aztecs faced prior to this game gave up 20+ points to them

tOSU did not - in fact I venture that the 6 points will be a low for the year.

I refer everyone, once again to '92 Alabama.

Winning ugly ain't bad if you keep the opposing offense well below their normal rate of production.

Good to see Haw trying there at the very end while Zwick ran the O.

Pitt botches the attempt with a bad snap right to the kicker, who throws incomplete!

Of course, with no receiver out there and the kicker between the tackles, it should've been intnentional grounding.

Still 1 second left for another kick on 2nd down.

The D did the job besides the first play of the game. Not the best showing of tosu, but and it's a win . Next week the offense will have to play on all 4 cylinders to beat Iowa, Haw really impressed me. How many rushing yards did he have in H.S.? WOW!

The whole team looked lethargic. I think that with a good week of practice that Smith will be ok. Let's hope everyone can get their heads out of their asses for practice this week.

Oh yeah, I blame Zwick for not covering the spread. :tongue2:

So much for this week being the week to roll it up and blow of some steam and impress the pollsters.

So much for this being the week when the QB controversy dies. TS had every chance against a VERY BAD TEAM to (even artificially) separate himself from Zwick, but he didn't.

It could be a lot worse.

The defense played a great game. Take away the opening play and they got 100 yards total offense. OK, they are not Iowa, but they also aren't Otterbein.

The offense had some very good moments where they executed well. But, there were execution errors. Even Ginn missed opportunities. They came out flat and listless. They brightened when the crowd started getting into the game late. The offense came out flat and never got their rhythm in a game that everyone thought they would win easily.

So, not pretty, but not as bad as it looked like it could be.

Let's hope the Spartans don't choke in South Bend, looking a bit that way right now.
