Well Hawk was really hoping that your ladies would buy his load of crap and no longer be scared of him... but it looks like that farce won't work after all.

- D'Andrea may miss this year so he has a full year next year of being healthy. Going to be a tossup if his knee heals in time.
- Ginn has added 10 lbs, but become even more impossible to cover. Before, Youboty could stick with him some of the time.
- Albert Dukes, who came from Holmes' HS, has been the most impressive WR this summer. He has been hailed by his HS coaches and many here at OSU as one that will be better than Holmes. He's apparently starting to live up to that hype consistently (he had the flashes of greatness last year, but needed to work on little things)

One big thing, is the previous four years, Tressel has always been reserved and careful in his comments to the press. The guy is a wordsmith when speaking, and yet this year his comments are much more confident. He talks about a lot more excitement on offense, and serious aspirations for a national title. I don't think he even talked that way as we neared the end of the 2002 season, or when we returned the same squad in 2003 (even in the interviews before clarett got suspended, he wasn't this confident).

i fell asleep last night with tears of anticipation falling down my cheek. I have reached my breaking point. All it took were a couple of highlight videos and a crappy nfl preseason game. I am officialy a wreck of a human being until opening weekend.

Hookers and condolences will be accepted.

Ohio State has played three big xii teams in the last three seasons, and the combined score has been 113-56... that's an average of 38-19... wait, before you go on about the big xii lighting us up for nearly three whole TDs, remember that Tx Tech was the first game of '02, and we were not yet set on D. that's not the case this year... and lest you point out the 28 points that K State scored, you must remember that the game was FAR out of hand, and Tressel called off the dogs in the 4th quarter...

Also keep in mind that in the Texas Tech game, we were up 38-7 entering the fourth quarter when Kumgurgler led a scoring drives against our second and third team players. We were also up on K-State 35-14 at the end of the 3rd and had over doubled their total offense.

I need to see some ESPN Classic games, stat.

I love winslow's clips and the other clips, but that are not quenching my thirst.

On another note, Mack Brown doesnt' want cell phones at practice for fear of photographs hitting the internet, etc. Back in the day, Barry Switzer used to send scouts to watch UT's practices. But as they weren't allowed near the field, they used to spy from the highway that runs just East of the practice field. F'n cheaters, stealing land, spying on the other team. I think one of the sooners might even try to date Vince's sister, Marcia, in order to steal the playbook.

Also keep in mind that neither of these teams was anywhere near as talented as Texas is this year. I can understand wanting to hang your hat on past games to feel good about this game but those two teams aren't nearly as good as UT is this year. No matter how dominate you may be against the Big XII you haven't played the cream of the crop yet. That being Texas and OU. We'll see how well your argument holds up after the 10th.

Of course, that has absolutely NO baring on OSU v. Texas 2005.

Texas Tech fans - tOSU would be at most in the middle of the pack in the Big XII

Hurricane fans - we have 10 first round draft choices, you can't hang with us

K State fans - Roberson and the midget will run circles around you

Husky fans - Frederick & Williams will run circles around your DBs, and you cannot contain the rodeo QB and the Husky ground attack

Wash St fans - tOSU, do they really play football

Heard it all about seeing the cream of the crop.

Damn!!! You got me, although I could protest that they weren't the cream of the "Big XII" when you played them. I guess it's a draw.

Heard it all about seeing the cream of the crop.
Calm down skippy :) . I wasn't claiming you didn't have a chance beating us because you're playing one of the top 2 teams in the Big XII. I was simply pointing out that hanging a lot of points on Tech isn't the same as hanging a bunch of points on Texas.

I'm not sure we're all gonna make it till september. At least we have a bunch of preseason matchups to hold us over this weekend.

I think what we're saying is we have a lot of excuses to not respect the big12. I respect Texas in this matchup, but we've flatout destroyed the big12 lately, and OU has enbarrassed your conference during their last game last year and last two the year before.

On the cellphone thing at texas' practices, it was b/c people were taking pictures/video of shipley's injury, and Mack claimed he was pissed b/c they hadn't had a chance to talk to shipley's parents first. I think Mack should realize that you can't contain information in this era of the internet, even if you close practices.

Was shipley's knee injury a re-injury last year, or a new one? Either way, if I werea lognhorn fan I'd worry about what would happen to that knee if he goes over the middle.

I'd say you are as good as KState in '03.

per Mack:
The head coach then added, “And there might be some coaches out there doing it, too.

Shipley injured his hammy this time, haven't heard how serious though. Mack thinks that Shipley needed more time to recover from the knee surgery, and thinks that while he is resting his hammy he can also allow the knee to recover to 100%
