Carr noted that Texas has lost star running back Cedric Benson to the NFL, which may make a big difference.

"The reason they were so difficult to defend was because (of) Benson," Carr said. "We honestly felt like we had to stop him first. They’re not going to have Benson, so they’re a different team."

Here is something to add fuel to the fire...

Michigan didn't face a 100% Healthy Cedric Benson; he hyper-extended his knee the very first play of the game, on a cutback. I don't believe he ever recovered from that play.

Now with that being said... IT has nothing to do with the game on Sept 10th.

I dont think people can help it. I am so freaking excited for the season to start i am going crazy. It is even worse this year cause i know i am going to be at the first two games.
Ditto. 29 days and counting until Thursday, September 1, when college football ... any college football ... kicks off. Crap, I have never been so eager waiting for such barn-burners as Central Florida @ South Carolina, or Minnesota @ Temple to get here. Just give me some college football ... any college football. At least once the season kicks off, there are some incredibly interesting games right out of the gate:

Friday, September 2: Arizona @ Utah
Saturday, September 3: Boise St @ Georgia
Sunday, September 4: Va Tech @ NC State
Monday, September 5: Miami @ Florida State

I think that its funny that after, mich state, tosu, and god knows who else, carr still couldn't figure out that mobile qb's hurt his team.
his pal DC Hermann ain't going anywhere soon... unless they lose @ Iowa, @ MSU, and OSU this year (which all three are strong possibilities).

I know this is a little off topic but it realtes to your post. I recently rewtched the OSU/Mich game twice. Each time I paid attention to Michigans back 7. The reason why Michigan has so much trouble with mobile QB's is because they lack speed at LB and/or their safeties are out of position.

The safeties for Michigan have a bad habit of cheating to stop the run. Our coaches burned them on that at least 6 times in the "GAME" Their safties at times get lost in their assingments. There are times when you could tell the CB's thought there was help over the top and it wasn't there. OSU missed about 3-4 TD oppertunities in "the game" Thats gonna happen but I thought I bring IT up to illustrate how bad their safeties are.

Their linebackers are slow. The overpersue on about every play. They had a spy on Troy and Vince and still couldn't do shit. IMO their LB's aren't the best tacklers and they are not good in space. Their LB'ers seem to be affective against pocket passer on blitzes but a mobile QB that can escape their rush gets huge amounts of real estate.

Their DL is the strongest part of their defense. I noticed that they are stout against the run but mobile QB's kill them. Their DL overpersues and when plays break down a mobile QB CAN FIND A CRACK HES GONNA GET BIG YARDAGE.

This year Michigans defense will probably be worse. Michigans defense is the type that will get a 3 and out in a series and then the next series have a 60 yard play action pass for A TD AGAINST THEIR SECONDARY.

This is nothing more than Tressel being inside of Carr's head. Notice that if the Buckeyes beat Texas, Carr has already offered an excuse as to why the Buckeyes would win against the team that beat Michigan a few months earlier. Carr should worry more about what his team needs to do this season to avoid a 5 loss season rather than worrying about who will be in the Longhorn backfield on 9/10 against OSU.

I agree with lightning about Carr. Why is he worried about OSU????? I guess Tressel is in his head. I would worry about games @ Iowa, @Wisky, ND, and Northern Illinois. Barry Alvarez and his team will want him to go out beating Michigan. Charlie Weis returns 10 starters on offense. Kirk Ferentz at Home against LLLoyd...OSU vs. Texas should be the last thing on his mind.

Frankly, the OSU Texas game should be the last thing in his mind behind 11 scheduled games and a possible bowl game. DON'T WORRY ABOUT ANOTHER TEAM, CONCENTRATE YOUR EFFORTS ON YOUR OWN TEAM. Whether OSU wins or loses to Texas won't really matter to scUM is they lose a few games before we play them, which is possible with their mediocre defense

Ok people, they just had a press conference where people were assaulted with questions... apparently breaston (who's a quieter type) wasn't able to touch his breakfast he had so many questions.

Carr was asked about the biggest OOC game in years arguably, and so he answered. He's not overly focusing on the game. Tons of people were asked about teddy, and likewise those who have played Texas (UM) or will soon do so (OSU) were asked questions about it.

Is Tressel in Carr's head? Probably. Can he outcoach JT? Still haven't seen it... Perry beat us in 03, not carr. And he looked just plain dumb in 01 and 04.

Fair enough. I guess massey was focusing too much on an unimportant topic too, right? You get my point, so I guess I can look forward to future arguments with you over my stupidity.
