we come out wide eyed making mental errors. texas? no problems. we abandoned our offense as soon as we went up by 3. texas played texas ball all game. what happened to the spread offense? we played just as much power eye than we did anything else. how many times did we have passing plays with 2 guys going downfield? wtf happened to gonzo after the 1st quarter??? where the fuck were teh flanker screens? i counted 4 times that ginn was lined up behind gonzo and hall with noone from texas' d moved over to account for him. meaning texas was literally spotting us 8 yards just like miami was and possibly a td on a single missed tackle. what was tressel's "magical special" plays for texas? the power eye? against the strongest d line in the nation? we 100% outmatched texas at wr. it was blatantly clear in the first half. and yet we didn't take advantage of it in the least beyond halftime.

i could be full of it and talking 100% on emotion. but i have a strong feeling im going to feel the same way when i go back and rewatch the tape tomorrow.

I agree completely with you why in the hell did we regress on offense so much tonight. Yes Texas's D was better then I expected but we gave up on the new offense. Tressel just abandoned the new offense and went back to the I or when we would be in the spread we ran the draw over and over again. Plus why is it our best offense player touched the ball like five times tonight he needs to touch it more and in different ways in order for him to even be an effective decoy.

Have to see how much Vince is off the field next week, though. In game 1 vs ULaLa he fell Michael Irvin style & got knocked out for a second(concussion)? I was worried tonight about it & he fell twice more like that & went coocoo. Hopefully things like that don't linger too long. Once again, your team was better than I mentally gave them credit for & Y'all truly are still in the MNC picture. Hopefully, rematch !!!

Addressing Tressels decision:

The thing is that Zwick was having the better night with pass completions, and finding open receivers. HOWEVER, Smith did score our lone TD and drive us down field. Its a HUGE decision in this. Zwicks fumble was a FORCED error, as noted. Its not like he dropped it, he switched hands to prevent the fumble and yet it got knocked out by a defender. Smiths only problem was the Safety, IMO. He should had thrown it away. This type of thing has happened before - Michigan 2003. Krenzel was doing ok the game while Scott McMullen was playing like a pro. He stuck with Krenzel on the last drive and we turned it over. We will never know what could have happened, thats why we gotta play the rest of the year with heart and and intellect. Learn from our mistakes by improving week to week and we cant be stopped.

We lost, but were STILL in it. We wont drop past 6-7. Only undefeated that are left with possible losses on an upcoming schedule: VTech, Texas, USC, FSU, Georgia, Florida.

We have Iowa coming up which is a top 15 team and we should handle them at home. A win over them and a top 15 Michigan later on, will help us in the polls. C'mon guys, we gotta take it week by week!

Appreciated your posts, size. You represent yours well. Goes without saying that we are going to be fired up for the rematch -- should be another outstanding game.

I'm glad to see a modicum of sanity returning. Those of you out on a ledge might as well just jump--we don't need you.

This Buckeye team played their hearts out against a DAMN good Texas team. To have a game of this magnitude come down to a hair's breadth margin--and it DID--is a testament to BOTH teams.

Texas won this one, and they look poised to make a run. Good luck to them, and let's make sure we support our team as they make their own run. Maybe we won't get to pasadena... but we are looking poised to have a BCS bowl-type season.

So sack up, support your team, and do your part. Anyone who doesn't is just dead fucking weight.

Great Game

Anyone who doesn't think Young is the best overall player in the country right now is on some really bad crack...
 -- Good call Miliani...

Y'alls Team gave a young man... heart attacks...

I was really impressed with you D-Fense. Y'all did a great job, of corrallin' Vince... he had no-where to run often... and had to lower his shoulder and get 1 or 2 hard fought yards.

I thought you LB's and run help, made our run blocking, look horrid... Our recievers where often seemingly being knocked backwards or grabbin' air... [That's a compliment.. b/c I thought we were a great blocking team]

HATS OFF to the Buckeye Defense.

RedZone Offense.
It seems as if y'alls play calling was just as vanilla as ours... GIN and Ramonce probably had 5 touches combined...

I was very impressed with the game overall...

Well, I'll tell you now

FSU ain't going far without a good and dependable QB - last week against Miami, both QBs for Snobby Bowden threw for a combined 60 yards, I believe.

Tech is playing good ball right now, but Miami is on their schedule, and they looked more impressive than FSU - if their line blocks.

Georgia has never impressed me.

Florida runs into Momar Spurrier pretty soon. If the ol ball coach has his way, he's gonna pass on every down.

Iowa got spanked today (only because Drew Tate thought he was Steve Atwater, dumbass).

Michigan got handled by Notre Dame (wow, Charlie Weis could be coach of the year).

USC is the team to beat, just because of their schedule. But don't forget, every team is beatable, even USC. Cal always gives them a game, and USC I have a feeling, is going to slip up in a few games.
