I would not be shocked if JT is our coach next year. The next months will be telling..

No offense, but I think there is more of a chance of turtles uncontrollably crawling out of Luke Fickell's butthole in the third quarter of the Michigan game than there is of Tressel being our coach again next year.

I know there's a -1000% chance of Tress being our coach next year, but how crazy would that be, and the reaction at the first home game next year.
I'd think the turtles crawling out of Luke's butt would get an even bigger reaction from the crowd, but that's just me.

I'm assuming you're pretty young. There is no way Tressel will coach tOSU again after this fiasco. From a perception standpoint, at a minimum, he's damaged goods now. Fair or not, it's a non starter for tOSU.

Maybe somewhere, someday down the road at a lower profile institution...

I suspect the reaction would be a little different than you think, but it's a moot point.

I would be. I can't see Tressel coaching again.

Got a PM a few days ago from a well-placed member of this board, saying Tressel may very well be patrolling the sidelines, due to an upcoming decision in the FBI investigation which would show JT indeed had to lie to the NCAA. It may just be wishful thinking of folks in the Y-town area, but weirder shit has happened before in sports...

If the NCAA does not whack him or Ohio State after he presented his case? I guess you could ask UCONN basketball fans about having damaged goods for a coach. Let the verdict be ruled before judgement is made..

I just want Ohio State to come back from this at some point with a big middle finger to the rest of college football and the media. I doubt that this is how something like that would be achieved, but it would be pretty fucking sweet if it did end up that way.

Taking it FWIW, I'm intrigued. :sneaky:

Even if that happened exactly they way it is stated, how would that result in him getting his job back? He wasn't fired, he resigned. They would have to re-hire him, wouldn't they? I can't see that ever happening under any circumstances, on either end. And he has no bearing for a wrongful termination lawsuit or anything since he officially resigned, so he can't just sue to be reinstated.

If he is exonerated, he may coach somewhere else...but not at Ohio State.
