Grand Theft Auto Online - "Killer Nuts" Crew

Haven't played in a couple weeks. Counter Strike has sucked me back in, so maybe I'll give that a break tonight & play some GTA.

If anyone is still playing this game try to find OrangeCarton5 on Xbox. I just whacked this poor kid 12 times and he got me zero, zilch, nada. I started off sniping him at a LSC. I was getting him with some great shots from a distance. He left to another LSC south. I tracked him with the Buzzard. Five more kills later he wants to take a run at me. He never got a shot off. He was losing his shit on the mic. Some of the funniest stuff ever.

It wasn't mentioned, but it looks like you can no longer glitch/sell the same vehicle over and over again for crazy profit...at least not in the traditional way. I've heard people are still able to dupe cars, but it requires you to have a buddy in your garage. On the plus side, Rockstar has actually increased some mission payouts. They're not what they used to be, but instead of a 50% payout after the first completion, it's closer to 75%, maybe more.
Also, I've heard some people that had tanks, or the space vehicle, or other unintended vehicles in their garages have been removed.

There were a few other stealth changes that weren't mentioned in the patch notes, but this one made me the most sad:
Some decent and legitimate vehicles were removed from garages. One of which was the Rat Loader. I guess these vehicles were considered utility vehicles or something and weren't supposed to be available for garages...kind of stupid, because if you've driven the Rat Loader, it's horrible to drive, but a cool vehicle to keep in the garage. I logged in Monday night for our usual GTA Online game session to find my Rat Loader was gone :argh: RIP, Rat Loader

So, a funny thing happened Monday night. While me and my 3 buddies were playing together in GTA Online, we came across an interesting little glitch. We weren't able to reproduce it, but it was pretty nice all the same. For starters, we're all playing in the same room, 4 different TVs. We were doing the mission "Base Invaders" on Hard. All 4 of us piled into my Buzzard Chopper, the co-pilot took out the Lazer Jets with his Missile site. We then attempted to land to jump in the Cargobob and complete the mission. In attempting to clear the base, 3 of us died, while the 4th guy was able to escape with the Cargobob and complete the mission. Everything seemed normal at completion. The guy that finished the mission for us did show that he had a few extra thousand bucks, probably because he never did the mission before....but when we loaded back into the game lobby he was showing $126,000,000 in his pocket. I shit you not. He immediately proceeded to bank the cash, and spent $20,000,000 right away on choppers, cars, guns, parts, etc before Rockstar could figure out what happened. We attempted the mission 3 more times Monday night, but were never able to reproduce what we did. No idea what caused that huge sum...but it looks like I'm no longer the richest guy in our group of friends

Update 1.08 is out today, which adds a free new "Capture" (the flag) game mode:

Capture - the newest addition to the collection of team-based modes in Grand Theft Auto Online, will be available tomorrow as part of the latest free automatic update on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. With 20 new Jobs across four unique modes, this GTA twist on classic capture the flag style confrontations brings a whole new level of adversarial action to the world of Los Santos and Blaine County. Strategy plays a huge role as you run decoys, set traps and place obstacles to ensure your enemies don’t get close to your goods. These new Jobs are accessible in Freemode and spread across the four different modes described below. Read on for more details and previews of a few of our faves:

RAID

In Raid, you'll have to fight your way into your opponents' base and steal a package, then deliver it back to your base to score points. Reach the target score, or deliver more packages than your opponents do in the allotted time to win the match.

"Beachin" Legal highs and bad t-shirts aren't the only things being pushed on Vespucci Beach. Four factions raid each other's stashes for control of the area's 'tourist trade'. Take product back to your spot and it's yours.

"Wargames" Like any military operation, when things kick off at Fort Zancudo Air Base, they escalate pretty quickly. Teams stockpiling weapons to sell on the black market raid each other's bases at either end of the facility. If they get the goods back, they're banked. Nothing's off limits to be used here, including the fighter jets.

HOLD

When playing Hold, teams must collect and store as many packages as possible in their base. Packages can either be found on the map, or stolen from the opposing team’s bases. Reach the target score, or hold the most packages when the time runs out, to win.

"Block Party" Gang violence escalates in Chamberlain Hills, as block fights block at close quarters. Four factions with two packages each try to raid each other and protect their own stuff. If they get someone else's product back to their turf, they'll have to protect it.

GTA

As the ubiquitous acronym might suggest, GTA mode tasks players with stealing target vehicles located all around the map, before bringing them back to their respective bases. Each team must fight to steal more vehicles in the allotted time than their opponents.

"My Maibatsu" Four East Los car thief outfits compete to get hold of a shipment of Sanchez dirt bikes, and store them back at their bases, while preventing the other teams from doing the same. First place to look would be the Maibatsu Factory.

"Field of Screams" A tractor shortage in Grapeseed leads to farmyard chaos. It's harvest time, and two rival gangs compete to bring a Fieldmaster tractor back to their bases. Farming is a deadly serious business in Blaine County.

CONTEND

In Contend, there's only one package, situated in the middle of the map. Teams must fight to bring this package back to their respective bases, and once the package is captured it respawns in the middle of the map and is up for grabs again.

"Salty Snatch" Dog walkers and surfing talent agents look out - two import operations at either end of Chumash Beach are fighting over a shipment that's landed on the pier. Any product they can get to their spot in the sand is theirs to keep.

This will get me back into playing the game more, because I love capture the flag and these modes sound pretty fun.

You can also go to North Yankton in free roam.

-Start the game singe player
-Choose to replay the mission "Bury The Hatchet"
-Play the mission up to where you fly out of North Yankton
(If on XBox) hit the middle button and find someone random you were in a lobby with before who is now playing GTA
-Join their game -- not sure if this works similarly on the PS3
-Fly southeast of the airport/Merryweather docks and you'll see a large mountain range
-Land and explore

What the hell happened after the 1.07/1.08 updates? There was crazy money floating around Friday night. I was on vacation last week, went over to my buddy's place for an impromptu GTA night. It seemed like every lobby we entered that night had people giving away money left and right. Not just small amounts, I'm talking big money. The first guy gave us each $127 million, which was nuts because I thought I was sitting pretty at $3 million already. Thanked that guy, then the next lobby someone else gave us $1 billion. Then a different guy gave us another billion. There were also $2 billion bounties going up left and right wherever we went. I had no need of the money, but my buddy sure enjoyed it. Anybody need a car?

Yeah, I guess the hackers that were doing this got put into a "cheaters pool", so there has been a huge backlash of more hackers giving money to everyone. The online is a mess.

Seriously thinking about getting a 360 again to play this. Should I pull the trigger or wait for it to come out on PC?

Eh, to me it was more fun about a month ago, but we still enjoy it. The Online is getting kinda fubar'd right now because Rockstar did a shitty job testing. It seems to be getting worse and worse, given the way people are giving away huge chunks of cash. Running missions with buddies has been the most fun for me, and Rockstar kind of screwed that up. To me, it was most fun when you could replay missions and didn't have to stand around forever waiting for certain missions to pop on your phone. To each their own though. We still have fun from time to time getting some guys together, taking over the most popular Pay N Spray, and slaying all who would try and take us down.
