Greg Schiano (HC Rutgers Scarlet Knights)

Meyer hires with the understanding they put in at least two years before they bail. IIRC, Schiano and Meyer are close buds. It would have to be a truly huge head-coaching offer (e.g., the supposed $10M/year at Oregon) for Schiano to bail in under a year (was hired Dec '15) and for Meyer to be OK with it.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter. I'm guessing Malik didn't talk to anyone about going pro before this year but no one is going to stand in his way if the right opportunity arises
I figured players were a different conversation entirely than coaches, you know sine coaches don't get hit and already getting paid(publicly). A player doesn't owe a coach or school anymore years than 3 that are required.

Let's say urban had a foolish convo with an NFL head coach about how he wasn't allowed to leave before two years. what happens if ND comes calling? Or lsu? he's supposed to turn them down based on some handshake before the season?

I hear you there. My comment was based on the one about Malik. I don't expect any coach to sit around if a better opportunity arises. And I don't think Urban will ever have to worry about finding suitable replacements

If He does leave, for a solid HC gig. how will that impact the plethora of Stud DBs in the 2017 recruiting class. that is a pretty big shakeup
