Hell just froze over!!!!!

Lloydsev could have a decent computer with enough ram to handle that much stuff. But its hard to have that many programs running without any spamware or user tracking crap.

To steal Lloydsev's glory more, I'm going to repost his image so we have a good quality copy of it for archival purposes:

I hope that I will not offend anyone if I say, "so what?" We always have known that ESPiN's fallback strategy was to trash "Where's the money, Mommy?" Please do not post ESPiN sites on BP. Please do not allow these guys to try to slide in here through the back door. We want an apology! No GameDay at the OSU-Texas game without one. BOYCOTT ESPIN!

Do we really wanna run this? Hey, what's to lose? It'll bump up the numbers and if the NCAA investigation's going against the "corruption at Ohio State" storyline, well, hey, the "this Clarett kid is a nut" storyline will bump the numbers up again and, you just watch, the Ohio State fans will be hangin onto our every word looking for our approval....

(Fade to Don Henley's Dirty Laundry)

I make my living off the evening news
Just give me something-something I can use
People love it when you lose,
They love dirty laundry

Well, I coulda been an actor, but I wound up here
I just have to look good, I don’t have to be clear
Come and whisper in my ear
Give us dirty laundry

Kick ’em when they’re up
Kick ’em when they’re down
Kick ’em when they’re up
Kick ’em when they’re down
Kick ’em when they’re up
Kick ’em when they’re down
Kick ’em when they’re up
Kick ’em all around

We got the bubble-headed-bleach-blonde who
Comes on at five
She can tell you ’bout the plane crash with a gleam
In her eye
It’s interesting when people die-
Give us dirty laundry

Can we film the operation?
Is the head dead yet?
You know, the boys in the newsroom got a
Running bet
Get the widow on the set!
We need dirty laundry

You don’t really need to find out what’s going on
You don’t really want to know just how far it’s gone
Just leave well enough alone
Eat your dirty laundry

Kick ’em when they’re up
Kick ’em when they’re down
Kick ’em when they’re up
Kick ’em when they’re down

Kick ’em when they’re up
Kick ’em when they’re down
Kick ’em when they’re stiff
Kick ’em all around

Dirty little secrets
Dirty little lies
We got our dirty little fingers in everybody’s pie
We love to cut you down to size
We love dirty laundry

We can do the innuendo
We can dance and sing
When it’s said and done we haven’t told you a thing
We all know that crap is king
Give us dirty laundry!

Where the heck do you go for your sports fix if not ESPiN?

Fox sports sucks
CNNSI blows major chunks.
They all kinda suck. CBSSportsline.com seems to be the best for me right now. ESPiN sucks too, if you think about it. You don't get anything but the headlines they feed to you, unless you do a lot of navigating. Also, if you want to look something up from a college sport that's out of season, then fuckin' forget about it. It will send you their designated site for that school, and you can't look up stats for football during basketball season, unless you run a search and sort through a shitload of pages that may or may not have the info that you're looking for, probably in an effort to have you hit their site as many times as humanly possible. CBSSportsline is much more user friendly.

Since this sickening campaign against tOSU began, I have relied mainly on CBSSportsline. I also have found Fox and CNNSI to be worth visiting as well, and I sometimes check out collegesports.com.

I guess it comes down to what you want. Once this all started, I began to be much more irritated by my perceptions that ESPiN was filtering news through their opinions and reporting only things in line with their current campaigns, not only concerning tOSU but in other respects as well. From a marketing point of view, their site is an interesting lesson in how to customize for viewer interests and involve the viewer in meaningless opinion polls that are designed to form a relationship with the viewer and create identification with their products (my PhD is in the field, so I do know what I am talking about).

I find that the coverage I am accessing at CBSSportsline is good and often better than ESPiN, and I appreciate leaving behind all the hype and self opinions. I'd much rather read Dodd or the other guys there than hear what the ESPiN guys think. Maybe they are a bit older and a bit more "blue collar" but I think they often "get it" better than ESPiN. With all due respect to ESPiN, I find their "journalists" opinions to be long on ego and short on substance or understanding of the game.

Everytime we go to ESPiN, we say, "hey, it's okay, trash Ohio State and we'll come back groveling for more." The Ohio State University doesn't need ESPiN's approval, in my opinion, and neither does TSUN or anyone else. That is not their role in society. That is not what press freedom is about anyway. If you want to call yourself sports news, then report the facts. Give us your opinion and a balanced view of other opinions. Let us judge for ourselves from the objective facts. If you want to do what ESPiN is doing, then you have that right, just don't call it news. And be transparent about the objectivity of your reporting.

so im on the way to work this morning listening to mike&mike, and they are talking to jayson stark (who is a major tool). they are talking about canseco. and i swear to go they have the balls to say this:

Canseco is the type of guy who doesnt have any friends in baseball, so he doesnt feel the need to protect anybody. Does this make him more or less credible? I dont know. But you know he isnt outting these names because he loves the game. At some point you have to question his motives and wonder if you can believe anything he says.

I swear to god those words came across an espin radio program by a guy paid by espin.

in an unrelated event, i looked this word up in the dictionary:

Hypocrite

n : a person who professes beliefs and opinions that he does not hold [syn: dissembler, phony, phoney, pretender]

How very appropriate and a priceless indication of just how stupid they think we are! :pissed:

CBSsportsline.com hmmmm

The problem I have with them, although I haven't viewed their site enough times to verify this....is that I believe they will be slanted toward the SEC because that is who they broadcast on their station.

I don't want to read about the SEC all the time...I don't want "southern" journalists feeding me piles of crap about southern speed and all the other rubbish that they say.

What is your take on this? How is their coverage of "other" sports... nfl, mlb..etc.

I generally tend to go to the team's sites or newspapers sites for info on my teams anyway... unless you are a red sox or yankee fan...forget any coverage whatsoever.

case in point... I love the Brewers..yeah yeah..I know... anyway... I go to jsonline.com, milwaukeebrewers.com, and brewerfan.net

I get TONS more coverage from these three outlets than I do at all the national sites combined.

I like them but try it yourself and see. I find them to be very balanced and Dennis Dodd seems to be almost a Buckeye supporter at times. Of their top 8 stories today, only two have anything to do with the South...the sentencing in the Alabama trial and the dismissal of gun charges against the ex-Vols. Two Big 10 stories, the appointment of Tressels nephew as Mason's WR coach and the notice that UM's masturbator has to stand trial. That is a good article to see the objectivity of their reporting, straight from the AP with little changes, nothing about UM now in terrible peril, just the objective facts about the trial...

SportsLine.com wire reports

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan defensive tackle Larry Harrison Jr. was ordered Wednesday to stand trial on four felony charges of indecent exposure and sexual delinquency.

The ruling came after three women testified that they saw Harrison exposing himself outside their houses. Harrison has pleaded not guilty.

Harrison, who started six games for the Wolverines, was arrested at 12:30 a.m. Dec. 7. Police said they caught him fondling himself outside a home. The other cases also occurred around the university campus.

Defense attorney Anthony Chambers has suggested the charges against his client are a case of mistaken identity.
