How do you handle a Bucks Loss?

Well, I've done better lately, but for security and safety reasons, Mili and I should never watch a game together.

This past saturday, I only cursed once and drank far less than usual. I was almost numb after seeing Iowa's emotion and our lack thereof

The NW loss gave me nightmares. I actually woke up twice after dreams of that game. It was horrible. I had buried my grandmother that day and the stress was pretty damn high already. I didn't sleep a full night until Monday.

The Wisconsin loss stung because it was a home loss. Our first in quite some time and it had been a while since I made the trek to my car disappointed. But the Wisconsin fans I talked to were very gracious and proud people without being the pricks that their team is made of. The pretend shit in the south endzone by UW's #2 had me steaming.

The Iowa loss was horrible but maybe losing like that will give of these guys a desire to win again. We were so utterly dominated in that game that I couldn't be upset too much that we lost. I was upset that we looked so damn bad.

I'm bad during the game. After it's over I really am not that pissed. I never get more upset than cussing and yelling at the TV or at the team if i'm at the game. I've never broken anything or hurt anybody...except when Ohio State recovered the Navarre fumble late in the 4th in 2002 against scUM. I almost gave my dad a shiner when my fists flew up in celebration. Thankfully he was okay, and the Buckeyes held on :)

Buckeyes running into trouble
By Tom Reed

Somewhere, the late Woody Hayes is watching the developing fiasco at Ohio State and destroying every inanimate object in his path.

He is mangling headsets, shredding sideline markers, snapping clipboards. He is bending the ears of the football gods, treating them like side judges he once terrorized, and begging for a 20-minute return trip to Columbus.
...
Woody has gone wild, and the football gods are vowing to send the bill to the OSU athletic department.<!-- end body-content --><!-- begin body-end -->

Like RugbyBuck said, I deal w/ losses much better after the NC season. After the MSU game in 98 I was kicking kicking things and punching walls. Now, I just say f-it and move on.....I am a Bengals fan so I am experienced in handling embarassing losses on a consistent basis

I grew up a Buccaneers fan. I feel your pain. January 2003 spoiled me.

I typically handle losses by just drinking a lot of beer (imagine that, same way I deal with victories). I am much more bitter though, and I constantly bitch about the game long after losses, my friends have learned to ignore my ramblings after losses, but this past weekend an unsuspecting, but cute girl got herself sucked into a half hour rant from me about Bollman and the offense (surprisingly I did not get her number...)

Luckily I haven't broken anything this year, but after watching the NW game at a bar, this note was left at the apartment by my roomate and his girlfriend:
"spending the night at Courtney's for safety reasons. Please don't break anything valuable."

This is how my wife says I act.

I am actually better watching games around others that I know from the opposing school. I have a lot of folks who are either MSU, Mich, Iowa, IU, Purdue, or Wiscy folks that I know and can watch the games with. For some reason it can sometimes ease the pain of a loss.

A lot of folks have asked me lately if the remote still exists or if a brick has gone through the tv. :bonk:

I haven't broken anything this year... in the past it has been a TV tray.... remotes.... my front door. After a loss I'll try to keep calm and usually call my dad or brother so we can rant to each other.

I hope this guy Bob doesn't beat his wife or anything..... I have a freind who is a deputy Sherrif back in Wisconsin. When the Packers lose domestic violence goes up like 70%. thank god they won last weekend or it would have been a long Sunday for him up there.

I bitch. moan, and whine. Pretty normal stuff for me.
Then I let it ruin the rest of my weekend.
I go on the internet, act irrational, and worry about the sky landing on me while it's falling.
Then about a year later, I realize it's just a game.
Unfortunately, I do this everytime, and it takes me a year to get over it.
With 3, in a row, I am really screwed.

I get violently upset during the game. I never hit people I just throw pillows hit pillows and other soft objects. After the game I either go into shock, anger, or denial. I would say when the Bucks lose it ruins my weekend but when they win I am happy for the whole next week.

My wife informed me today that if we lose this week, not to come home until Sunday morning. Apparently I was short tempered with my kids and I was an absolute ass to her. I yelled at my daughter for no reason to the point where she actually cowered from me and I didn't even notice it.

I have to keep my emotions in check after this week.
