Not sure how many of you have family or friends down there but I though I'd give you an update...Just got off the phone with my mom and sis who live in Clermont (sis was in Orlando when the eye hit). Everyone west of Orlando didn't get it that bad, in fact, most still have electricity. International drive where Disney is got the eye of the storm but people there have no idea how bad the damage is..Disney is built to withstand anything so I couldn't say how much damage there could be there. Orlando lost electricity and there is extensive tree and roof damage everywhere but from what I was told there wasn't devastation to the point where human loss would be large.
On a sadder note, the islands between Port Charlotte and Fort Myers are devastated. Reports are as much as 70% of the homes there are destroyed and I really hope no one stayed around. Port Charlotte took the brunt of the devastation and it's expected that a good portion of the town is in ruins. Let's all hope this isn't the case when daylight hits.
