Hurricane...nothing to joke about

Janelle flew to South Carolina for a wedding today, and I wasn't even thinking about the hurricane. Thankfully it's hitting the gulf and not the coast, but I am obviously worried as hell.

Since 9/11, any time anyone in my family flies, I am scared as hell anyway. But her flight's landing was delayed, I haven't heard from her yet, and I am very scared for her.

My mom and my sister are within 30 miles of the projected path of the eye on the gulf side of Florida. She just gave me the "signing off" email and asked not to call today (as I assume that's what the local government is asking people to do). Should be a fun day.

jcfiesta- You're going to want to check the tropical advisories for the Carolina's before you go....

You're gonna get rained on at the least..

"putrid little cunt of a momma's boy"

this is what was just written in a negative ding given to me.

Who uses the word, putrid? Can anyone remember anyone using that word? Mods, any chance of finding out who this was?

Not a big deal to me but I don't think anyone like this should be welcome in here anymore.

Here is hoping the rest of your week is uneventful!
Did you get the generator?

We'll see how uneventful it will be a few hours

I didn't get the generator. Home Depot sold all of the ones thay had in stock yesterday, they were supossed to get more in today but the place was packed. I had to go into Sarasota to meet my new boss this morning so I didn't have time to fight the insane crowds. We got lots of batteries, water, food etc. Should be interesting.

I posted this on the other thread but it has been upgraded to a category 4 storm (winds of 145MPH) and will make landfall in Ft. Myers. Andrew was category 5.. this will be the strongest hurricane since Andrew in 1992.

Bay News 9 reporter Al Zimmerman fights the conditions in Sarasota.

I saw this guy reporting on TV. He had to kneel so he wasn't blown over.
