I hate recruiting season

I feel bad for the kids getting recruited in the next few years. If these new NCAA recruiting rules go into effect, they will be getting hounded by college coaches all hours of the day/night. It will be a relentless attack from coaching staffs for two entire years. NCAA's way of saying "if we can't police it, then let them do whatever the hell the want". NCAA opening up a huge can of worms here IMHO. Parents, coaches and those involved in the decision-making process of where these kids ultimately attend school are going to get tired of these new rules really quickly.

The coaches don't want it b/c they will be forced to keep up with their competition. That means longer hours at the office, more time away from the family and more time building relationships/communication with these kids earlier and earlier in the process to get a leg up on the other top programs. It will be either fall in line or get out-recruited, lose football games and lose your job.

The programs that have more resources to put together a solid recruiting staff are going to have an advantage over a smaller, less financially stable athletic department, which would ultimately be good for OSU and other top programs but not necessarily the best thing for college football IMO.
